Kings Island, Ohio – Ronny Salerno, a rides supervisor at Kings Island, looks at the new entrance sign for The Beast roller coaster on Thursday. The Beast, listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest wooden roller coaster in the world at 7,400 feet, celebrates its 30th anniversary season in 2009. Kings Island opens for preview weekends Saturday, April 18 (closed April 19). Daily operation begins May 22.

A newly redesigned Rivertown will show off "Ride Warriors" banners to promote Diamondback, Kings Island's 230' steel monster set to open in April.

I really like the new banners on the light poles! That was one of the things I commented on when I went to Carowinds a couple of weeks ago. The banners really added a festive atmosphere to the park. I`m glad Kings Island is incorporating some of these.

I like the addition of the banners as well. CP has those around the park, specifically in the Dragster/Magnum Midway, and they sell the previous year's banners. I really need to start buying those... But I'm waiting for a good MF one :P

I can't wait either. I still cannot wait for the park to open daily. My friend and I are gonna do a couple whole day rally's on The Beast. I just hope Diamondback doesn't stop me from wanting to do that....The sign looks good but can't wait to see it in person.

Notice the speakers on the lampost, maybe we'll be getting a new soundtrack for Rivertown this year. Also, along the lines of music back there, I really hope they play Maverick's soundtrack in line for Diamondback. Or at least something somewhat similar.

I think Rivertown is going to look great this year. It was really starting to need some attention last year, and CF gave it to it!
