McSalsa Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I rode Flight Deck a few days ago, and upon searching through some stuff here, it seems many think Flight Deck needs painted. I agree. But what color? I think black would look good...but after seeing some pictures of it when it was red, it looked great back then. Or should it stay Silver? So many choices... Quote
McSalsa Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 PS: If you have a good idea for a possible new theme for the ride, you may place that too. Quote
HTCO Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Red, But dark blue and black would look pretty flappin sweet! Quote
McSalsa Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 One more thing: the name "Flight Deck" kinda sucks in my opinion, so if you choose a different new color, and have a good idea for a name to match, you may post that, too. Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Can't think of a good new name for it. As far as colors, a nice shade of Navy Blue would be great for that ride. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 The subtitle here was and is: It Needs Painted Bad. I hope not. Chang got painted bad. Not once but several times. Bad paintjobs resulting in large chunks of yellow paint falling off the ride. Some of which were collected by Pat Koch in a bag and taken back to her park for souvenirs, but that's another story for another day and time. Quote
skaterboy22101 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Well since Diamondback didn't get the colors I wanted, lets give them to Flight Deck. Supports- Neon green Track- Neon pink Quote

I meant it needs re-painted and fixed up badly, and could get a new color. The thing has rust all over it. But I get the joke. And yes, let's not "Paint It Bad" like Chang! I'll fix the title... Phantom Theater Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 The track be Blue and green Supports. Thatd be interesting. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Even when it was red, the supports were a different color, often blue.... Quote
Erosarrow05 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 you mean blue, as in sad because they needed painted? ... i ask since i cannot remember anytime a support on top gun was blue... Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 In its early days, they were blue, and about the same color as the blue used on the Superman coasters. There was actually a post here with a picture: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=298233 Quote
indianapolisman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I would actually hope before anything else in the park gets painted, they finish Diamondback. Quote

indianapolisman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Do what? Terpy, who does not understand Many parts of DB are still left unpainted or at least the last I was there. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 If you mean the fact some supports are different colors than others, that's by design. As far as I know, the entire coaster is as painted as it will ever be. Quote

Some are worse, and I believe the touch ups will be done if not already. But I was a little surprised to see it still not done after opening day. Quote
Erosarrow05 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 "the interpreter", I see no blue in that picture. The original color of the Gun supports was always a deep slate gray. If we were judging by that picture alone, I could potentially argue that some of the supports gradiate from a dark gray to light gray bottom to top respectively. ... just throwing that out there Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I vote for blue. Everything at KI seems to be red, wooden, or yellow. Let's mix some new colors into the landscape. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nothing red, yellow or wooden about Vortex! Quote
indianapolisman Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nothing red, yellow or wooden about Vortex! She looks good with a fresh coat of orange. And getting less squeaky by the day. Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nothing red, yellow or wooden about Vortex! Whoops. I honestly thought about voting for gold. That might look really nice. Quote
Dvo Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I voted for Black. I think it would look pretty sweet to be really dark, hiding back in the woods by itself. It's like the disfigured sibling in horror movies that gets locked in the closet... Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 And much of the public would say, "Gee, when'd Kings Island get a Batman: The Ride?" Quote
rotag Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 i think they should paint it camo color so it can blend in with its suroundings since not very many people ride it except for the ones who know its there. or make it stick out like a sore thumb and paint the columns flourescent pink, the track neon green, and the cars a two tone between electric blue and saftey orange.
