What color would you paint Flight Deck?

I voted for Other. I'd like to see something completely original with all honesty. I don't know exactly what I would want to see, but make it interesting so it catches people's eyes in a good way. That way when people look at it from the Eiffel Tower they'll look in awe instead of saying that it's ugly.

I personally like the current colors. Fit the theme and stand out from the sea of rides at Kings Island. Plus, the silver track just looks sleek (and thats with half the paint worn off). A fresh coat of silver would look spectacular.

I'm also ok with anything but red.

2007-->Firehawk-->Red

2009-->Diamondback --> Red

After back to back new coasters being painted a shade of red, I think we've met our quota of red coasters. Then again... this is KI under Cedar Fair ownership... the same Cedar Fair that owns Cedar "there is only one prime color!" Point

Electric blue and black. I wouldn't mind seeing pin-stripes or something on the cars to give them that jet appeal. But's it's not about the paint for me. It's the ride itself that's important. As long as it doesn't seem to slacking off on performance. Although I think color would liven up the ride.

But paint does not just beautify, but also protect from corrosion of metals and/or rot in the case of wood. Bad things can happen when it is omitted or neglected. See, for instance Thunderbolt Express at Camden Park, which you can't since the former owners of the paint economized on paint (and many other things). Or what Paramount Parks and Cedar Fair ended up having to do with Thunder Road after it was unwisely decided to strip the paint from that older, less effectively pressure-treated, wood was exposed.

First Flight Deck. Racer could also use a paint job...badly. Not as badly as Rolling Thunder in Joisey, but getting there...

It should be painted rust so it doesn't look too different than it already does.

Exactly! :)

I agree. I think we've seen enough red. I'd love to see some metallics. Silver, gray, and black. In my opinion, neon colors would look horrendous. Where's the "Flight Deck" theme with green and pink?

Well since Diamondback didn't get the colors I wanted, lets give them to Flight Deck.

Supports- Neon green

Track- Neon pink

That would definitely be... different.

If you mean the fact some supports are different colors than others, that's by design. As far as I know, the entire coaster is as painted as it will ever be.

That means bare metal in between pieces of track? Which you really don't notice until on the ride.

These are two small spots. Some are worse, and I believe the touch ups will be done if not already.

But I was a little surprised to see it still not done after opening day.

Those bare spots are where pieces of track come together. The joints are welded down so they're as smooth as possible. Afterwards, the red paint is reapplied. As far as I was aware all of the paint had been touched up.

I know. I saw your post. But, I also added that the paint should've already been reapplied. Also, you said that spot is where the pieces are welded together. But, more correctly is the actual sanding of the joints that takes of a wide area of paint. Welding makes the joints bumpy. When they're sanded, they become smooth. See the difference?
