Boomerang Bay is open to anybody with valid admission to the park. And there are plenty of places to eat:

Larosas

Chik-Fil-A

Subway

Skyline

Potato Works

Action Grille

Those are just a few options for in-park dining. If you're like me and prefer to leave the park for decent priced food, there are several fast food places with a five minute drive. Most notably McDonalds, Wendys, and Burger King.

Yeah. I usually go to one of those three though so I really couldn't say what else is nearby.

Edit: EWWW Terpy...Justin does NOT enjoy mexican food. Niether does his stomach.

However, your girlfriend will still need to go in through the employee entrance even though she's not working that day.

Also, you will have to enter through the main gate, just like the general public. If you aren't in uniform you can't go through the employee entrance.

You just have to love some of the answers you see on these forums! I'm guessing one of them is right

If I were you, I would ask your Supervisor, or have her ask her sup. The reason is that most of us here either do not work for the park, or are past employees when the rules were different. So to get the most up to date information, I refer you to your (or her) supervisor.

I've tried.

As was pointed out, rules have changed. Under Paramount, employees had to enter through the employee gate, regardless of whether or not they were working that day. Under Cedar Fair, employees enter and exit through the main gate when not working.

lance - the best words of advice I can give you is this: if your question involves ANYTHING that includes the words "as an employee" it should be directed to your supervisor. We here on this board are, for the large majority, members of the general public and cannot answer questions involving policies, rules, recommendations, availability, or anything else relating to being an employee.

Not only that, but any employee who publicly seeks advice about his employment on the Internet (where his employer can readily see it), rather than getting it from his supervisor, raises all kinds of questions. If I were his supervisor, and I was a supervisor for more than two decades, the first thing that would enter my head is "Why does this guy not trust me to ask me? What IS he up to?" The second thing that would enter my head is "Why are things like this being discussed publicly?"

And if I were that employee, I would not want my inquirees appearing in public, nor would I trust the information I got second or even third hand. There are at least a few people on the Internet who may not have your best interests at heart, to put it mildly. That's the way of the world...

To sum up, your question this time may not be any violation of the terms of service here, but it is very unwise to ask employment questions here. Why don't you just ask your supervisor(s)?

Yeah, have you ever heard the saying "50 50 90"

You have a 50 50 shot at being correct, and 90 percent of the time you will be wrong.

That is the best advice and he's been told that, by my count, a million times. Maybe a million and one will finally sink in.

Hey Lance I saw you go into the park today. I work in the same department as you. Best advice that I can give you is to ask our very nice supervisors when ever you have these questions. They would love to answer your questions and get to know you better.

Why would employees have to enter through the employee gate, even if they're not working? Also, what if they had family/friends with them? They would have to split up for a few minutes.

They had to because Paramount owned the park and made the rules. If they did not follow the rules or did not wish to, there were many other employment options.

Terpy, who, when he worked in parks many years ago was subject to a different rule...if you wanted to come to the park when you were not being paid to be there, you couldn't....period. Not with your family. Not alone. Not with your significant other. Not at all. And if you did, you were fired....the owner was not about to be accused, as many were back then and as many did back then, of requiring employees to work while off the clock, then, if Wage & Hour showed up, say "They are only visiting...."

Many of them back then. It was far easier to find employees as there were so many of us baby boomers competing for jobs. Now that many of those boomers are back in the market looking for a job...any job, I suspect you may see more and more rules imposed on park employees (and in other jobs), as it is the employers who have more market power than the employees...when until recently, the situation was exactly the reverse. I remember a time when there was a two year waiting list to be considered for seasonal employment at most regional parks. I doubt we are headed back towards that, but you never know...

Imagine identical twins, one of whom worked at the park and one who did not....

Knowing the park owner back then, he'd make them work identical schedules. If they didn't, they wouldn't work there. He was a tough old bird! On the other hand, he also had a heart of gold at times. I saw him quietly feed disabled former employees, pay for funerals, loan money, etc. You got as good as you gave with him.
