gigacoaster2k
man i'm glad angie got to it first.. i was about to say... what was wrong with our outfits! if i recalled right, all the skirts even had leggings under them! THANK YOU. Kat was offended by that comment too, and she told me yesterday that she was glad I said something. I'm not going to sit here and be a doormat when someone insults me and/or my friends. Avatar said it was a joke...but if we are going for honesty here, I just barely got to meet Justin at CWW...and he was definately a very nice guy...and I think the photo of him in the pink wig is hilarious...but I would not want to see a bunch of guys running around the park like that on a regular basis...it would ruin the atmosphere of the park. Nor did Justin run around in the pink wig all day. He basically wore it for photos and it spent the rest of the time in my messenger bag, along with most people's boas. I was very insulted by the remarks about those of us in the glam rocker party. Nothing we wore was obscene, revealing or in any way disturbing to the people around us. The two of us who were wearing short skirts had black leggings underneath them to keep from showing everything to those who didn't want to see it. All of us were more conservatively dressed than many park goers are.
Avatar
Those who know me or have read my postings through the years know I avoid controversy to almost the extremes, but like to sprinkle a dash of humor here and there. In this thread I felt I shared some humor that I would in no way be offended by and trust me I have had lots of jokes and pranks thrown my way and enjoy it when others feel they can. It came to my attention that my jokingly may have been misunderstood and therefore offended some. So I usually would not remark or explain (as it is often said; lees said is best said) , but I surly did not want my remarks to be misunderstood so I tried to clarify what I was meaning by my post. I will just say it once more IF anyone misunderstood what I was trying to say and they where HONESTLY offended then I am sorry, but I will add this after I tried to clarify and you where still offended then I am not sorry but I am sorry for you. I was upset that I could have offended someone and wished that I had not posted but now I am glad because I think it may be a good thing for old and new members to see what was said and how it was said so that we may have a better understanding of each other. I am proud and I am proud that many of you PM or texted your concerns rather than add fuel to the fire.
standbyme
I was very insulted by the remarks about those of us in the glam rocker party. I must have missed something...I just re-read this entire thread and I can only find (besides Giga's & yours) 3 comments about your attire...Avatar's, Errosarrow's and just now mine...and to be honest the first 2 DO come off as humor...and I would also say that mine is probably the worst of the 3...and I don't even consider mine insulting, just my observation. Were there rude comments in other threads that I missed?
windshawne
I DO wish more people would remember that it is a family park and dress accordingly...but then again there are things that Cedar Fair does that makes me think that even they forget that it's supposed to be a family park. Club Blood and Dead Awakening come to mind. I have seen women come in in the skirts and high heels for the waterpark. Only reason I can think for someone to do that is to "hook up". gigacoaster2k
My friends and I are not adding fuel to the fire. No person that made a comment about us stated that they were kidding when they made the comment, but only said they were kidding AFTER they were confronted. That doesn't exactly validate something that insulted several people at once. I was not the only one who was offended by what was said, and if anyone wants to feel sorry for me and my friends because we stood up for ourselves, then so be it. windshawne
Just my personal taste, but there's nothing scary about dead awakening. Pure and simple its a hootchie show. If I want to see something like that, I'll go to the Oregon district. Entertainment like that is going to draw a certain crowd, and the way some guests are dressing reflects that. KIfan1980
At the risk of adding to this debate when it probably should just fade away, Nor did Justin run around in the pink wig all day. He basically wore it for photos and it spent the rest of the time in my messenger bag, along with most people's boas. All of us were more conservatively dressed than many park goers are. In my opinion, the boas and wigs were an indication of a group of people having FUN at a Cedar Fair park. This is VERY different than people dressing in a fashion that is offensive to other park guests - which is what this forum was created to discuss. I was happy to be able to meet and hang out with the group a little that day and had NO concerns with bringing my 3 and 5 year old kids into the group (for a picture and ride). I will just say it once more IF anyone misunderstood what I was trying to say and they where HONESTLY offended then I am sorry No person that made a comment about us stated that they were kidding when they made the comment, but only said they were kidding AFTER they were confronted. Personally, I think Avatar deserves credit for apologizing and the benefit of the doubt here. I'll also note that his original post does have this -> (Laugh emoticon) as the "Post Icon". sheikra_rocks
In my opinion, wear a shirt PERIOD at the park. I don't get offended by men or women not wearing shirts, it is mainly the women and girls who wear the bikini tops that seem to be a size too small. I am lactose intolerant, put them away! For girls and women, wear a shirt on the ride "Shirt and shoes required to ride." I don't want to see your juggs bouncing every which way. Guys, pull your pants up where they belong, there is probably a gay guy checking you out... GUILTY....LOL Personally if my partner and I had the ability to have children, i've told him I would string our daughter up by her ears and not let her leave if she wore anything like the girls wear at the parks.... 90% of them.... are with their parents. The point is clear, and it states in the map that proper attire must be worn. I understand that some what at least a dry shirt after they ride a water ride i.e. WWC of Congo Falls, me personally want my shirt wet to keep me cool longer. rotag
im not sure how people will take this but, because i have no @$$, i can still wear a belt {as i always do} streached as tight as it will go and it will still have that sagging syndrome. and as far as shirts on me i can wear dickies* shirts cause anything else including my KIC shirt shows my gut when i lift my shirt up. and before anyone tells me i should loose some waight, i have been on a diet for the past three years and only lost 10 pounds MAX!!! IndyGuy4KI
^The jean skirts down to the ankles is a religion thing. My sister had a friend in high school who went to a church where a majority of the girls wore those all the time (I forget the type of church). I can answer this one for ya. It's Apostolic/Pentecostal. I wear skirts only, and yeah most of the time..they are ankle length. I wear longer lengths when I'm there with the kids and know I'm not going to be riding much of anything that requires the middle seatbelt. On days I know I'm going to be riding Delirium, Drop Tower, DB, Slingshot, etc., I wear a skirt that is just past my knees. Decent enough for rides and my religious beliefs. Oh and a funny tidbit of info regarding ankle length..it's not required we wear them that long..basically as long as the knee is covered, you are ok...but most of the time, they are worn that long because well..... we haven't shaved that day or didn't have time to. And you can thank me for that mental image next time you see one dragging the ground heheh Now there is a good answer to my question. I did not think about the religious reasons, but you do have an alterative when you want to ride those rides that requires a different attire! Going back to the skirts, I was refering to ones you see that are painted on and wearing high heels like they were heading to the club, not an amusment park. That is not pratical (At least I would not think so.) I was not refering to a loose fitting skirt to keep cool and being consious when entering a ride while wearing one. Please accept my appoligies if my previous post offended anyone.

The days are long gone where women are supposed to be seen and not heard.. and we all learned in what, grade school, to think before we speak?? CedarPointer
I'm surprised how fast this thread grew! I saw some real shockers at CP on Sunday... XGatorHead 8904
In line for DB yesterday, I saw a girl, early 20's, wearing a t-shirt over her bikini top, and nothing on the bottom but her bikini bottoms. No shorts/skirt/pants, nothing. It looked like she was in her underwear. I'm not sure if the DB crew let her ride in this since she was too far ahead of me. Diamondback FOF
So yesterday while at KI, I saw more people wearing the tank tops with the ripped open sides...include a group of three girls. Yes, I just said girls. One of them had a bikini top on under it. Another wasn't so bad, though. She has a spagetti (sp?) strap tank top on, then had a tank top on with a one inch strap on over that. Then, she had the ripped open tank top on for the top layer. I forget what the third girl had on under her tank top. Then, there was this one teen boy who had one on with the ripped open sides...And it was ripped from about his arm pits halfway across his chest! I saw his on ride photo from DB, and he had his arms up, and his shirt was covering his face and arms. You could see his entire chest and stomach. Also, little girls (probably 6, 7, 8, or 9 years old) walk around with a bikini top with either bikini bottoms or shorts on. Do their parents that they're with not realize there are creepers, predators (sp?), and perverts out there that DO hang out at KI and watch there kids? Overall, I didn't see too many girls and women walking around in bikinis in the dry park (probably less than usual). Although, some of the people in bikinis did look pretty nice . Then, there were those who, well... didn't look sooo nice . There were a couple more things I thought of yesterday and I was going to post, but now I forget. gigacoaster2k
I wore a bikini to Splashin Safari at Holiday World. But I made sure it looked right in the mirror before I walked out, and before we re-entered the park, I threw my tank and shorts on over it. There is a difference between showing off a nice body and looking like a skank. I wish more girls would have some respect for their bodies and for those around them. cameron94
I've noticed that a certain type of shirt has been gaining popularity with KI's male guests: sleeveless shirts with the sides ripped open, therefore exposing everything. I don't care if you're fit or not- I don't want to see it! Kthx. Discuss. (Don't even get me started on certain female attire...) I never really was a fan of wearing these shirts until I tried it one day.. I dont wear them often or very much in public for that matter, but on a hot day at KI it really makes that tiny breeze feel that much better. But sorry it offends you man.. CedarPointer
They do? Well, they also sell tight, short shorts that say "Top Thrill" on the back, so we can't really look to CF for modest clothing.
KI-ORIG-EMP
In line for DB yesterday, I saw a girl, early 20's, wearing a t-shirt over her bikini top, and nothing on the bottom but her bikini bottoms. No shorts/skirt/pants, nothing. It looked like she was in her underwear. I'm not sure if the DB crew let her ride in this since she was too far ahead of me. Once back in the 90's while sweeping the Vortex line, I saw a lady wearing a brief bikini top (Dolly Parton size) along with cut off shorts exposing her bikini bottoms and she had a Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction. Did it cause her to blush or turn red?? Nope. She just fixed it as if nothing happen. I remember her because she was wearing a red, white, and blue bikini and you might say she was showing her "colors!" I think this is ok over at the water park, but not in the park itself. I think all bathing suits should be covered, even the tops. Because I am proud of the work I do, I made sure that part of the line was spotless. Speaking of doing good work, once while working for Montgomery Wards as a porter, I was pushing a dust mop along the hall when the lady I refered to as "Miss America", was wearing her usual purple skirt with a slit going all the way up the side of her leg. As she past me and I turned my head to keep her in my sight, I ran into one of my supervisor friend. He knew what I was doing and laughed also. The point is wearing revealing bikini tops or any other clothing is a distraction. Also beings we are a family park, children are witness to this. They should not have to see this. KI-ORIG-EMP
I saw some really obviously inappropriate shirts at CP. Is it really that hard for the admissions people to turn them away? I've seen them do that before. When I worked in admissions at the front gate, I would ask people wearing offending shirts to change it or turn them inside out before going through my line. The offending shirt had in big, bold letters "F**K Y*U". I also seen a security guard escort a guy with a offending shirt to the shop to buy a decent shirt to wear.
