What are a few things you all like about the park im new to ki central love the site and value your oppinions. I love THE RIDES... such as Beast Racer Diamondback Vortex Invertigo even Viking Fury There are some world-class rides at KI, and also some historical rides. I do love the history of the park. I also love the layout, the landscaping, and the landmarks. The view when you enter the gates of International Street, the Royal Fountain, and the Eiffel Tower is spectacular IMO. I even love the air blades in the restrooms. Very high tech.

auge.dog
I was hoping someone would add a thread like this one. With all the negativity, a thread about what is right with KI is needed - if for no other reason than for me to justify purchasing 4 season passes for the family. So, I'll weigh in. 1. Rides - and lots of them. Some are flat out awesome, others very good, and others, just good. However, I can honestly say every ride I have gone on, I have at least enjoyed it to some extent. Even my least favorite coasters - Reptar and Adventure Express are still fun. 2. Appearance of Rivertown. The upgrades to this area are noticeable, and I think it looks super. 3. A waterpark. It may not be the best, but it's nice to know that if my kids want to go, we can, and we will have a great time, AND it will not cost me one cent extra. 4. $1.99 refills for souvenir cups. A few of these each trip is all my family needs. 5. Ice water. I have not had any workers complain when we ask for some ice waters. This aspect combined with #4 keeps us hydrated, and the cost is very reasonable. $4-$6/visit. 6. No hassles at the entrance for bringing in bottled water. I often have several bottles in my backpack when entering, and I have yet to have security say a word. 7. Food choices. I, for one, like LaRosa's, Skyline, Chick-fil-a, and Subway. The family of 4 deal at LaRosa's for Gold Pass holders is also not too shabby. 8. Employees. For the most part, they have been helpful and have had good attitudes. Some more than others, sure, but mostly positive - and that is a good thing. 9. Gold pass holders do not pay for parking - that's nice. 10. Don Helbig. He used to work for my dad, and I used to talk to him about The Racer and all his rides on it. It's great to see someone have a successful career in an industry for which he has a passion. 11. Fireworks. I love fireworks, and KI has nice displays. 12. Characters. I like seeimg them out and about. 13. Street musicians. The last time we were there, we saw a group of bucket percussionists. 14. Events. My kids got autographs and had the opportunity to watch some extreme sports in person. 15. ERT. It may only be 1/2 hour, but it enabled my first ride on Diamondback to be only a 15 minute wait. I remember as a kid my waits for my first rides on The Beast and Screamin Demon were at least an hour, as there was no ERT back then. That's it for now. CedarPointer
1. Landscaping. It looks really nice. I was quite impressed, since both of my former home parks were Six Flags. 2. ERT. The Beast is usually EMPTY during ERT. <3 3. Employees. For the most part, most of the ride operators are really good. 4. Diamondback! Hey, we finally got a B&M! 5. Eiffel Tower. I certainly like the observation tower concept much better than, say, Space Spiral at CP. 6. Music. I actually enjoy the music played in the park quite a bit. 7. The new QTV's. I hope we get more of the Pantel displays that are in Diamondback's queue.

pcc
No one has mentioned the fans. Those things are a God send when you are hot and in line. I <3 fan! hehe Also enjoy the canopies for the Delirium line. There should be more of those, like at Cedar Point. Funnel cakes! Kings Island makes the best. The food workers are awesome. We ordered ice cream in the Action Zone last time we were there. We were just going to have 1 and share it (was just the hubby and myself) and the ice cream was handed to us dripping and sorta smooshed down. The guy working there said "This looks terrible, here have this and I'll make you another for free" Same thing happened for pizza the next day. We waited longer than they'd like for us to have waited, and our meal was free. Let me tell ya something people, patience really is a virtue and it can pay off . We insisted on paying, we weren't starving or anything..but no, it was on them. Thank you! The rides are awesome. Kings Island and Cedar Point are my two favorite parks. When I visit other places, they just don't come close to these two parks. I would even go as far as to say KI and CP have spoiled me. No other parks will do. The ride ops I have encountered have all had a great sense of humor and are friendly. They seem to enjoy what they do, and that makes the ride all that more enjoyable. I could go on and on, but I share sentiments with most of you. Rides, people, etc...it's all good! (That's why even though we live 5 1/2 hours away, we have season passes)
Thrill_Biscuit
I like: the wafting aroma of french fries, funnel cakes, sunscreen and coaster grease. ...the feeling of falling backwards on Delerium. Best experience ever. ...watching/hearing first-time coaster riders freaking out, then applauding the awesomeness of their first rides on our venerable coasters (especially when "shaking off" the double helix, or the trademark, sudden stop of Vortex). ...the sound of said Vortex coming to a stop (Shaclack-clack-clack-Psst!) ...the view from the eastward corner of the Eiffel Tower, especially on crisp, late spring mornings when the trees are in full bloom, and the sky is blue from horizon to horizon. ...fresh-cut fries, so hot they almost burn, drowned in ketchup. ...the clinkity-clink of the ring toss. ...the reliable shortness of the lines for AE and SR&R. ...watching the Glass Blower work. ...the BLSC crew at closing time. ...the cleanliness of the park. ^^and Rotag, I, too miss the VH1 Kittens singing "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan, especially in Festhaus! dare-to-fly
1. Getting to ride coasters in general. 2. Fun rides to go with said coasters. 3. Enjoying the park with family, friends, and making new friends. 4. Sounds and sights of the park. 5. Royal fountains. 6. The overall magic of the park. 7. Beast and Diamondback crew members. 8. Music in line for The Crypt. 9. Whining about trim strength 10. Halloween Haunt rides on Beast, Racer, Son of Beast, Vortex, and Adventure Express. ...to name just a few really passionate things in no particular order that I can pinpoint. There are WAY more things about the park that I like than what I dislike. To me, it really is one of the best spots on the planet...which is why I prefer to spend as much time as I can there. Beast1979
Diamondback. Beast. Racer. Flight of Fear. Adventure Express. Drop Tower. Vortex. My Platinum Pass. The fact that it is 15 minutes from my house.
dare-to-fly
The fact that it is 15 minutes from my house. Way to gloat, Jackson! However, driving an hour and a half to work hasn't gotten old yet, and it's always easy to drive there to play.
KIBOB
I like how rivertown has been brought back to life and has restored theming. I also like Cedar Fairs greater lookout on cleanliness and ride safety.
Beast79
I grew up at Kings Island as a kid it was like a second home, spent 7 years working there and I wish I still was. There are many things that I like about the park. The entrance has to be one of the best with the royal fountains and the Eiffel Tower. Seeing my two girls loving Kings Island like I do. The special treats like Potato Works Fries, Blue Ice Cream and Funnel Cakes. A large mix of rides new and old. We finally got a B&M!! diamondback_king
My favorite thing about the park is getting to share my childhood with my kids, now 6 and 10. I grew up only getting to come once a year and how special it was! And now my boys come about 4 days a month. Its amazing how a 6 yr old can ride Vortex and his head is 2 inches shorter than the OTSR's. lol Or how a 10 year old will ride Diamondback with his hands and feet all the way up thru the entire ride. I swear there is no fear in them. I think the best is re-re-rideing The Racer 30 some odd times in a row. They want to try to break the record! What is it anyways? Thats what I like the best about KI! oh yea, we will be at the park thurs, fri, and sat this week. ride 75 and counting on Diamondback! standbyme
Obviously I like the rides...but honestly they have become almost secondary to me...except for the enjoyment it brings me watching my family on them...I like the “nostalgia” of having our National Anthem played in the mornings… I like coming through the gates and seeing the characters greeting everyone…I like the fountain, it's irreplaceable…I like sitting underneath the shade trees by the fountain…I like that the train engineers will try and time the train so that everyone on board can see Diamondback coming down the hill…I like the ride operators who have smiles on their faces because they are just as happy to be there as the guests are…I like the lemonade at Subway…I like the photo op area with Scooby Doo…I like the Gold Pass Meal Deal at the picnic ground…I even like the food there…I like standing on the bridge and getting soaked at Congo Falls…I like the new Rivertown cobblestone walkways…I like the new refill cups…I like the ride operators at White Water Canyon waving to the train passengers…I like feeding the fish at Outer Hanks…I like that the park has special events for enthusiasts like us…I like that Wings is no longer called Wings…I like the new snow/glitter globe with the park rides in it…I LOVE that there are sites that I can talk about Kings Island…because my family is sick of hearing about it! Oldiesmann
This morning they were standing at the entrance to Gold Pass Parking (rather than at the stand about halfway into it) and strictly enforcing the rules. For whatever reason, they had cones set up to direct traffic a different way than usual, and I saw no less than two cars turning around after talking to the attendant because they didn't have a gold pass and couldn't read the signs... Yesterday was a good experience with the parking controls. I have been very happy to see traffic being routed through the parking lots, including the turn-off for Gold Pass Parking. Traffic flow, both in the morning coming in and in the evening leaving the park, has greatly improved since Cedar Fair has taken over operations. I also liked the fact my KICentral.com shirt worked, if only 1 time. Got to meet and chat a bit with KIMan while waiting for Diamondback. We used the Parent Swap on a few rides though. thats not anything near line jumping, on the KI website its reccomended But during the times that I was the one waiting in line I didn't have anyone cut in front of me or climb the rails or anything. My only complaint about the lines was the single rider line at Diamondback is terribly implemented and the queue for Firehawk was too hot.
