What could I say to my parents to convince them to bring me to KI. I really want to go at least two other times before the season ends. Whenever I ask my dad he says that hes not a gold mine. My mom says she can pay for all of it but my dad won't let her. I also have the money but he won't let me pay. I am DYING I want to go so bad! I start school real soon, so I really want to get there. All my friends are on vacations so none of them can take me either. PUHHLEASE help. :( I also want my mom to come because she's never been there and I want her to ride some of the rides. OH YEAH if I were to go on a weekday after 5, how would the lines be? Especially for FOF, Beast, and Firehawk. Would the lines be horrifically long? Is that a word?!

*screams in anticipation, hoping someone will answer*

Whales_Rock Sorry to hear that you are having difficulties in convincing them to take you to Kings Island and I hope it works out for you. At this time of year it is hit or miss in predicting crowd sizes for certain days or hours of that day. Now I would like to say something about your Title of this thread and I mean this in a polite way. There are some members here who read and post regularly and they are dealing with a family member who is really struggling with their life but are terminal and other members who have some very sick family members and worry about the unthinkable to happen. I think your title comes off as trivializing dying and can be hurtful to some. I do not think you meant to do that in any way and it probably did not cross your mind of others on their situation. I just wanted to point this out so that maybe we can use another example on how to convince your parent s to take you. I hope it does work out for you and have a great evening.

I am sorry to say that your parents are the only ones that can make this decision. If you dad has already said no, accept this and move on. You may ask him what you could do to earn season passes for next year. I see that you are about 45 minutes from the park so it is still a bit of a commitment to go, not to mention the other costs involved like gas & food.

If you continue to bug them, you will only make things worse.

Good luck

Dave

This is sooooo wrong. On sooo many levels.

Don't make it seem like you're wanting to kill yourself over a theme park.

As I have learned from my parents. Begging gets you no where. Offer to do things around the house. Before my parents take me to KI, I have to do something (mow the lawn, dishes, trash, ect..). And I live 3 minutes away. In other words if you ask to earn it, then you might get it. Life just doesn't hand you opportunities. You have to work for it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some dishes to do before I head down to KI. :D

I've done chores and everything. I've got the money. My dad has no problem with me going, he just doesn't want to pay, though my mom and I can both pay for it.

And I'm really really really sorry for my stupidity/desparity I've just been bored out of my mind this whole summer. Usually every year I go on at least two summer trips, but none this year. It's dreadful.

I recommend offering them something for the trip( Like clean the house for a month etc...) That works for me. I know how you feel, I also live in Hebron and it can get bornign here in the summer! Lol.

I'm not sure but I'm sorry to hear that. I would suggest maybe for Christmas or your birthday a season pass to KI. It's great value and then maybe next year your parents could take you more.

I hate to be a wet dishrag...but there are far worse problems in this life than not getting to a park you love. Trust me on this. Know that it is good to have family, clothing, shelter, health and a good chance of having all that again tomorrow. Getting to go to the park is merely a nice bonus compared to those things. That may sound harsh, but tis true.

Bow am I glad you logged in to chime in on this Terp.

Sparky, who was figuratively biting his tongue and fingertips madly.

when i was still in school it was vacation one week out of the year, so most trips were a one day visit to any park, and a lot of other stuff in the area. now that i am out of school and into the work force i can do as i please, which i bought gold passes to ki. so my advice is listen to your folks until your on your own out there.

OK sorry everyone. The boredom was getting to me. It IS boring in Hebron. And I don't have anything to do at home. But yes my birthday is coming up real soon so maybe I can get a pass for my birthday. My mom was almost going to take me yesterday but she was afraid of the rain, plus my dad wasn't there.

Try and point out the benefits to having a pass:

If you go three times, the pass paid for itself, go more than three and your saving them more money each visit.

Plus don't forget when you buy a pass early in the season, you get FREE parking ($10.00 to $15.00 saved each visit).

If they buy a family pack (4) they save even more; Season Passes are the way to go.

Lets not forget that nice waterpark that comes with a pass (mom and dad can relax there).

Maybe you should ask Santa to put a season pass in your stocking for next season.

Not to rub it in, but my daughters hit 42 visits today! How much would that have cost me for individual tickets and parking?

Ya, I just asked my mom about it she said maybe, because neither of my parent will take me.

I wish I lived within an hour of King's Island. It takes me 2 1/2 hours to get there driving through the middle of nowhere.

^ Yeah the drive is 45 minutes, but It seems like its only 20, really. It's real quick. The distance isn't that big of a problem.

And my favorite escape is at best 10 and a half hours away. Even the nearest major theme park is over three! As was pointed out to me years ago by a very dear friend, it matters not where I live, I'd just want to live somewhere else and still go there from wherever it was I lived. There's some truth in that. It must be old adage day: "The grass is always greener...."

^^Terpy you think a 10 and a half ride is long? My drive would be a 2 day drive. And my nearest park is 5 hours aways... :( So it seems we're both in a predicament.

Miami too Cincinnati doesn't have to be a two day drive if you don't go to a hotel. Four years ago I went to Miami and I left at 6 in the morning and got to the place I was staying around 8 at night.

^ I never drive on vacations. We fly EVERYWHERE. We flew to Cleveland

I've never been on a plane. Lol. Hopefully, Me and my dad are going to Cedar Point sometime this summer.

I wouldn't be scared, but the flights out of the airport by where I live are out of this world, I couldn't afford it! Thank god world-class theme parks are within driving distance.

^ I'm still afraid of 9/11 lol. It was the only think I talked about for two years...

All I have been talking about is the SOB closing. Needless to say, my parents want to tape my mouth shut sometimes.
