Coney Islander
Is this the comic book 3d movie that used to be at Kings Island? It looks very familiar.
CedarPointer
I just want to know how most of the SimEx Iwerks movies got leaked onto the internet...
PKIVortex
Yes this what played in Action Theater during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. I was apart of the crew in 2001.
Dvo
Oh man good times. That was an awesome film for the simulators. Easily my favorite one of all. Although I'll admit.. I'm not nearly a spongebob squarepants fan, but the simulator is pretty fun for it.
teenageninja
That was a pretty decent movie, better than Smash Factory, 007, and The Lost Temple or whatever it was called.
Guest TombraiderTy
Thanks for posting this, I've looked for the 7th Portal film on YouTube in the past without much luck. SpongeBob 3D and The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, two other films that have shown in the Action Theater, are also on YouTube. I have yet to find James Bond 007, Smash Factory, Elvira's Superstition, or any of the other few films that have been shown there.
CrazyKay07
I used to love this. I think this is my favorite action theater movie..right after Spongebob haha .
westcoaster
Not my fav at all good find, wish we could watch all the movies, just to remember: Id say best ever Days of thunder, best theme, etc.... The other side is the theatre gone now??? I believe it is???
DeLorean Rider
Not my fav at all good find, wish we could watch all the movies, just to remember: Id say best ever Days of thunder, best theme, etc.... The other side is the theatre gone now??? I believe it is??? I'm not sure if you're making statements or asking questions. Is, "I believe it is???" a question? Side B of Action Theater has been cannibalized to keep the A Side running. As of now it is good for nothing more than a haunt attraction. Coaster Kid
^ They keep up all the walls and medical equitment plus lights and stuff becasue my freinds dad lifetd me up to take some piccs of it for him wiht his camra with flash on and saw alot of it. *goes to camra to see if my pics are still there* crap there not there. teenageninja
Pretty much the whole haunt attraction is in there, as are some more seats for Action Theatre, most of them not complete.
Coaster Kid
I think once Side A closes if it does Side A will beome more part of the haunt in my opinion like romove the screen wall and transform the outside to look like a hospital tht would look cool while riding Racer. CedarPointer
I'm not sure why they couldn't ever reopen Side B, the ride system is still being made (SimEx Iwerks TurboRide), so replacement parts shouldn't be incredibly hard to find. It's kind of sad that what was once a major attraction has now been reduced to a pseudo-kiddie ride.
PKIVortex
Yeah and as of Tuesday they aren't even running Spongebob in 3d. I think it's days are numbered. But I guess the theather is 15 years old. How crazy is that?
CedarPointer
Or it could simply be a projector issue that'll be resolved. From the looks of it, they simply had a portable projector on top of the normal one, which would explain the poor picture quality. If it were permanent, I'd think that the normal one would just be gone altogether. The ride still draws in guests, but, much like the Crypt, won't draw in as many if they continue to operate it in the way that they currently do... (how long has SB3D been there, again?) Coaster Kid
I think 2007 or maybe 2005 not really sure.
CedarPointer
Wikipedia says 2003, but I'm not sure if that's right.
PKIVortex
Yes 2003 is correct. 7th Portal only ran for 2 seasons. 2001 and 2002. The Shortest lived Major ride film the ride had.
Coaster Kid
I cant really remember but I remember it came in right before a diffrent movie went out.
The Interpreter
Really? It would be rather difficult to watch if they showed two simultaneously in the same theater, don't you think? Terpy, who just HAD to
jondrewfoo
just a note, spongebob 3d has been running in 2d at least since last saturday and was running in 2d yesterday still. the 2d movie is pretty degraded, you can see a ton of things you sometimes see in cheap theaters except worse (black lines throughout, and in the middle there are some permanent ones that are very noticeable)
