I have a problem with Diamondback......

Yesterday I went to the park for a few hours, my first time this year. While it was a great time, their was one horrible factor. I waited in line for Diamondback and one I got up to the ride platform they sent me to row 15. I was like "YES! I get one of the best rows."I go put my camera in the bin then I come and try to sit down. I didn't fit...

Honestly, I am a bigger individual, not extremely over-weight/obese or anything like that but I still couldn't fit. The biggest factor was my legs . Because of the restrictive style bucket seats my legs wouldn't fit.

Now if I was just too "fat" to ride I wouldn't be posting this. The only problem is that, after reviewing a ton of my pictures of DB I saw alot bigger people riding it. I'm talking about bigger than me. I only saw the bigger people though in the back rows of each car. So I want to know if the back seats(the open seats) are bigger than the close together, front of the car seats. Any comments you guys have would extremely help 'cause I need to ride this thing.

Kyle who is perplexed....

The even numbered rows are not any more forgiving than the odd numbered rows. As a rather large guy, and after 40 rides on DB, I can attest to that. I've found that the best way is to sit as far back in the seat as possible, and then, like pkiruler, I basically slam the restraint down onto my legs. I've had enough practice doing that so I almost always get it right, and I can tell just by the feel if I don't. When I don't, the ride ops are usually helpful in getting that last click in.

That's awful. I'm so sorry to hear that :(. Even though you have seen people bigger than you riding Diamondback, that means pretty much nothing. It matters where the size and weight comes from. If you have really large thighs but the rest of your body is small, you will probably not fit. Whereas even if you're pretty big but you have small thighs, you will probably fit.

i just follow the rule of the thin black line, even though its off on green train.

Half of the times i've ridden there is no black line. It's either faded or gone or something...

huh?

Next time you ride Diamondback look for a black line on the restraints. I'm guessing it is for the ride ops to see if the people can ride

I am sorry that you could not ride DB. As a bigger guy, I was worried after reading reports here. I however fit fine on DB. I see by your name here that you are a dragster fan. Assuming this is refering to TTD at CP that is one that I just barely make it on.

We are heading to SFGAdv next month and I have been told that El Toro has more restrictive seats then even Millennium Force which is also a close fit for me.

Yes EL Toro's seats are a little more restrictive than MF, but I would say if you fit into MF and TTD, you should be able to ride. My dad was, and he has trouble sometimes with fitting into some rides.

good luck.

Don't tell me that, I am using this as an excuse to try and drop another 20 lbs. I started working out and now am more sore then 3 full days at the parks.

Okay, we won't tell you that...and here's why. On El Toro, like on most fairly restrictive rides, it is not how big you are but where you are big. I have seen some fairly large individuals enjoy El Toro without problems...and others, who appeared smaller, were not able to fit. I hope you get to enjoy the bull!

Ole, Ole!

Sorry to hear that man, I did not notice any mention of your body size. I am 6'4 and 270 lbs. Last year I went to Cedar Point and had no problem with the M. Force but, I could not ride Dragster. The problem didn't even anything to do with my belly/stomach. My hips were just too wide, I was 1 inch from buckling my belt so... you never know. I fit in DB just fine with no problems at all.
