LongliveKingsCobra
And so many people have already riden it that they know exactly how the ride works...
HTCO
[dream] I wish they would hide what happens a little more. Like, If the car went slowly forward out of the station, a door closed behind it, then it launched in pitch dark? That would be awesome! Then the next train rolls in empty and the door opens. bkroz
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but this topic seems right for it! Do we know why they've been stopping trains on the MCBR all season? Did they do it last season? Talk about destroying the pacing! You just hear on echo of "Huh?" "What?" from riders. It's very awkward.
The Interpreter
Yes. Someone knows. Terpy...in your heart you knew he would...
violakat03
Because Cedar Fair loves trim brakes.
PKIVortex
FoF at Kings Island has only ran trim less for like 1 or 2 seasons. But It does seem kinda of silly to stop the train completely in the block.
violakat03
Paramount had it shut off starting in 2002 or earlier, up until the sale to Cedar Fair. Joker's Jinx still runs without the MCBR. It doesn't even have an MCBR.
The Interpreter
Nor does Poltergeist. On the other hand, neither of those were designed to operate with three trains....
PKIVortex
And the FoF's where designed to run up to 4 trains.
FOFreak
After working FOF for two years 97 and 98 I used to remember both station and q-line pre-show by heart! I liked how they would show the line in real time back when pre-show was for outerlimits, that little part must of been edited out when the Outer Limits licensing ran out! No they still do that. It caused for quite and akward moment when it caught me and my girlfriend in the middle of a kiss, lol.
Beast1979
Because Cedar Fair loves trim brakes. Not only that, but Kings Island themselves are heavy on them.
bkroz
I mean I obviously know that Kings Island is trim-brake crazy, but to STOP the train? It really is a good 10 seconds before you pick up speed again. It seems a little ridiculous.
The Interpreter
Compare Vortex.... Terpy, just sayin'
kjkjkj
I wonder if you'd get a little ejector air time on Vortex in that spot if the trim was turned off?...

CedarPointer
The trims on FOF are ridiculious. Bringing the train to a COMPLETE STOP? Really? Who thought that would go over well?
HTCO
The trims on FOF are ridiculious. Bringing the train to a COMPLETE STOP? Really? Who thought that would go over well? Before you know it they will completely stop the trains on any MCBR. Wouldn't that be funny.

CedarPointer
Exactly. Although, it does have lots of places for taller people to hit their feet...

ShhhQ
I haven't been to KI since 1998 and this was my favorite ride back then (it was only a few years old) and I do remember it having the spiel!
Kris_2009
I worked on FOF last year, the spiels were there until the computer decided to say I quit. Now they have the crypt's old sound system and haven't got all the spiels back and on.
j_allen_74
Did FOF always have the part midway where it brakes to an almost stop? I thought it felt different than before? I know this question has been asked a million times probably, but I am new here and can't find the answer. Thanks!!!
LongliveKingsCobra
Nope. I did not.
The Interpreter
The part has always been there. The near stopping has not always. Were the part not there, the coaster would fall in the floor. Or look like Poltergeist and Joker's Jinx.
