SnakePit
Ummm, clearing out a kids area isn't as hard as clearing out an ENTIRE park. Uh, yeah...it is. Some of the sections aren't as crowded as Nick Universe is on a Saturday. Take Coney Mall for instance... that'll take less time than Nick Universe to clear. jondrewfoo
they dont clear by sections, but the entire thing. thats thousands of people all going out, just to come right back in. it will be mayhem...

I have experience with dealing with stampedes. My High school freshman hallway was hell to get through. I think i can handle a stampede here. lol
Fear the Four
How it's worded makes sense to me. The park closes at 6. People leave. If they want to come back for Haunt, they re-enter at 7. It's not brain surgery. Last year they had signs posted all over Nick Universe that the area was closing at 5pm on Haunt nights. Guess what? At 5:00, all them people left the area. I don't see it being the problem that some of you think it's going to be. Some of you make a mountain out of a mole hill with everything. Close a park for a hour? That is just plain stupid. That would cause havic. People will be leaving and people will be coming in and traffic would be worse then ever.
hamoperator
Kind guest, please leave our park and go eat in the parking lot or somewhere else and come back in an hour. What genius came up with this incredibly stupid plan? Here's betting it never happens. Your right; in the past seasons of Haunt, it has been if you are in the park and plan on staying, your in; continue riding and eating and having fun; Nick Universe is the only part that actually closed down as was fenced off. I can't imagine going out for an hour and then coming back in, what (genius is too nice) moron came up with this?
hamoperator
ugh. this does not sound very cool i didn't even see the reentry thing. now we are going to have giant crowds of people waiting to get into the park right at 7. Giant crowds that will not be happy... i have a feeling crowd control will be an issue. and what about the metal detectors? talk about a line... edit: i seriously think they should just have a system that when you enter the park if the kid is under 12 they get some sort of wristband that basically says only good till 6pm. have any and all staff informed that kids under the age of 13 must be escorted out of the park during the hours of 6 and 7 pm. It really should be done... What metal detectors? I seen a kid in the park last weekend with a knife; the detectors have been deactivated the last couple of times into the park. Talk about safety! I seen a kid sneak in past the detectors; I told the security guy that was there the kid bypassed him and the detectors and his reply was; the ticket people will catch him? Now how will the ticket people know if he has something on him that could be dangerous? Osmosis?

My kids ask when does (HH) it start up again.... Not every kid is scared by Haunt. If you teach your kids right, it can be an very enjoyable family night out..... No one has the right except me how to raise my kids....I don't tell other parents to bring or not to bring their kids; it should be the parents choice. Those of you that know my girls, know what I'm talking about.

Yeah, they fenced off Nick Univ at 5pm, but you didn't leave the park, you walked around and kept enjoying the larger rides; got a bite to eat and relaxed... nicksterbixter
I don't see Kings Island attempt to clear the park in an hour. Likely, they will close down the rides, and shut down the entrance gate until about 6:30. But Kings Island does not like to pass up on the opportunity to make money. They will likely encourage families to leave and guests staying for the haunt to eat somewhere like Festhaus. And notice how the Kings Island website says more information is still to come about the Haunt. They have barely given us any information on their plans, except that the park will close at 6 and reopen at 7. The Haunt is only a month away, and a year ago they would have had a full site dedicated to the Haunt by now. Obviously they are working on these details, and trying to figure out how to avoid the obvious problems.
StalkerChick
im disappointed that they never went through with the separate admission for haunt. my pass says no admission to fearfest, although that is odd as fearfest isnt even the term for it, its Halloween Haunt. again, im also disappointed that its only open until midnight on thursdays and sundays, although i can see why they are doing that. Dude.. Disappointed its open on thursdays and sundays?!?!?! It hasn't in the past 2 years, minus 2 years ago Halloween was on a weds, so it was open mon, tues, and weds. Normally Haunt is only a Friday/sat night. Altho the Sundays and Thursdays seem randomly thrown in... I'd expect the thurs of Halloween weekend to be open, not in the middle. almost positive its the soft close. where as long as you are in line. do they keep the roller coasters that dont close at night open during that hour? No rollercoaster "closes at night" All rides, minus Nick U are up and running during Haunt. And except for Scrambler, as its the line for Massacre Manor. Use your park speakers (you know the one you announce show times on) except turn up the volume and warn everyone KI will become "monster infested in two hours" repeat again at 90, 60, 45, 30, 15, 5 minutes, and keep the signs you had last year up too. Any parent who doesn't get the message at that point is a moron who will get ****ed at you for closing the park at 6 anyways. There's signs literally EVERYWHERE around the park. i pass 17 i swear just going from the parking lot to the gate, that say "Park Transforms at 5pm. Children under 13 should exit the park by 5pm" and yet at 6:30 when the actors leave to go to their locations, you ultimately have the mom with 4 kids under 5 standing by the theatre none the less screaming and yelling at you to stop scaring their kid when you're simply walking... not in character or anything. just walking, with duffelbags and water bottles and food, looking opretty normal and not scary. You will ALWAYS have that stupid parent that JUST DOESN'T GET IT. I honestly think the reason haunt is lacking is because of the sheer amount of people that go. when i went on friday night, it was a completely different experience. we were sent through most with groups of 4-8 and it was way better. you would get freaked, no matter if you were in the front or the back. the saturday i went, it was so crowded the group sizes were doubled and sent in much quicker intervals. you could see what happened to the group in front of you half the time, and it really killed the fun. Simple really. Friday = High School football games, and other sports on Saturday morning, and only being open at 7. Ultimately shorter lines. I recommend to anyone to go on a Friday. Especially if it rained up until 6. That was the greatest night ever! nothing but fog everywhere! (most of it natural too!) and no lines! even at Urgent Scare, the lines were like 15 minutes. Saturdays = park open all day, so families, high schoolers, teeny boppers EVERYWHERE. and everyone just sticking around later that night. Honestly I see Sats in october as worse than Sats in July On a lighter note: Does anyone know if they are going to do the steel door opening on Friday only? or will it now be Thursday? (When the monsters bang on the door)? That would The Wall of Monsters (and my favorite part of Haunt ) And I would assume since the park opens at 7 on thursday, that they would also do WoM on Thursday as well. Again I recommend anyone being at the park at 6:30 to witness this. It's a riot! (pun intended)
XGatorHead 8904
The Haunt is only a month away, and a year ago they would have had a full site dedicated to the Haunt by now. Not necessarily. The 2008 Haunt lineup was not announced until September 8th last year. I searched KIC a few days ago for the date they were announced so I could get an idea on when they might announce this year's stuff.

And Viking Fury, Troika, Zepher may be open.

Diamondback FOF
I just thought I would let everyone know that KI has changed the calendar on their website. Now, it does list KI as being closed to the public on Saturday, September 26, but it says the park does open up to the public at 7 pm. LimeRockstars
So, where is everyone getting the information about the park closing for an hour? Is Howl-O-Fest the kid friendly halloween stuff? Haunt_mistress09
I'm still a little lost here..sorry to bother everyone! I'm going to Halloween Haunt the weekend before Halloween (yeah i know it will be busy, but i'm bringing a few friends from out of state and it is hard to get everyone together ) If i go to KI early and they evac everyone..does this mean i will have to pay admission again to get back into the park? or will they do the stamp thing?
