I now understand the negative sentiment about KI's food service.

My group waited 30 minutes today for milkshakes at Jukebox Diner. Yes, 30 minutes. And it was not crowded. In fact, we were the only ones in the place. We went up and complained, and suddenly, there they were! Apparently they had been sitting outside for quite a while. That made me happy, considering how many bees I see swarm around the ICEE machines. :) (The food at Skyline was good, however!)

So instead of just giving them to you, they expect you to pick them up outside?

Good thing my family chose Skyline over Jukebox Diner when we went! (Skyline was good, BTW. And so was the pizza we ate at Festhaus, but we can get better pizza at Papa John's, Pizza Hut, or Donatos)

I have never had a bad exprience at any of the resturaunts at KI. The best Skyline is at KI. Been to a lot of them and none compare to the quality of KI's.

^Really. I've been to Skylines at Dayton Mall, Kings Mills Rd, and in Centerville, and all three were better than KI's. They had forks, for one.

It was truly a teen-run show. I think the employee forgot to go and check.

Wait just a doggone minute...some of the best service I have ever received has been from teens, at places as diverse as Holiday World, MGM Grand Casino, Swampwater Jack's and Carnegie Deli. Many teens work hard and try to please.

To each his own. I guess I love KI's Skyline the most is because I'm at an amusement park. Something about it makes the food tastes better, must be psychological.

Oh, I do have one complaint. I went to Panda Express on my last visit and I thought the food was horrible. But I was becoming dehyrated (SP?) so I naturally felt sick after the first bite. I'm not going to KI for -cough-injured lady on SOB-cough-.

Just out of curiosity, which Skyline to you typically patronize at the park? The one on International Street or the one in Coney Mall or both?

one afternoon at Festhaus my husband had the burger and went to get the lettuce and stuff from the condiment bar and there were no tongs. This was like 2 in the afternoon after the lunch rush and people were just dipping their hands in and getting lettuce and pickles and stuff it was GROSS. and then when we told the food people they just got tongs and dropped them on the bar not caring that the food was horriblely contaminated.

As if the presence of the tongs all along would have prevented the many people I see not use them when they are there from not using them...?

Terpy, who seldom eats at what he calls hog troughs for a reason

Hey! I said just out of curiosity the other day but anways I think he is meaning the one on International street.

Both dude. Each time after I finish my meal (every bite I can get), I'm completely full and satisfied.

very good point, but i would maybe rather not know they werent being used then actually see thier dirty hands in it. lol

You'd be amazed (and probably not very happy) to know what goes on in many restaurant kitchens, but we digress....

Moving on...nothing to see here

In sight

It Must Be Right

Steak N Shake

(who is now building new restaurants where you cannot see the kitchen, unlike the existing ones...)

Hmm, that's a shame. I always enjoy when the kitchen is fairly open to view. It gives me a sense of security, haha.

Now, my wallet has a negative sentiment for the KI Food Service. But it's okay, I always grab some extra napkins to wipe up it's tears. ;)

I work at a resturaunt and do nothing bad to the food. I never have and never will.

You would not be the only one. There are many good people in the restaurant business...and some that ain't.

Every time I've gone to Stunt Crew Grill in Action Zone, my food has been made to cook, hot and fresh, and I get excellent customer service.

ONE time, I got the hot dog meal and went to eat it.. the bun was hard as a rock. I took it up to one of the employees and politely showed her. She gasped, apologized to me repeatedly, and threw my entire plate in the trash. They remade ALL of my food fresh at no extra charge, apologizing the whole time, and gave me twice the fries I'd had in the first place. The cashier even apologized to me and it wasn't her fault.

Now THAT is customer service.

Yeah. It seems like, for every shining review I hear about KI's food, I hear five negative ones. If KI's food were cheap, I wouldn't be as disappointed. But, when a burger costs over $8, I would expect at least decent customer service. I've gotten better service at a hole-in-the-wall rundown restaurant than I got at I-Street's Skyline. Not to say that it never has good service, but it didn't today. We got cups of water with cheese and chilli in them, and had to go nag the employees to get another box of forks out. Oh, and I got yelled at for taking two packets of hot sauce.

Oh, don't get me started. I was at the ice cream shop outside of Jukebox Diner, and I ordered a milkshake. So, the woman puts the ice cream into the metal container to be mixed, but a small amount was dripping off the side of the metal container. So she takes what's dripping off the side with her finger and puts it in the container. No big deal, right? Wrong. Next thing she does is WIPE HER NOSE WITH THAT EXACT SAME FINGER!!!! What are the odds she did that before I got my milkshake? I'll say pretty high. But, I didn't want to waste a (very overpriced) milkshake, so I drank it.

I always eat atg the one in Coney Mall. Why do you ask?

I go to the Skyline on I-Street, because you watch them make it right there.

I prefer going to a real Skyline, not only that it taste better, but looks better, and you get more for you buck...

The only places i eat at KI are in the Festhouse And at Skyline at the entrence becasue I like to eat inside on a hot day.

I used to always go to Skyline on I-Street for food. Maybe a month or two ago, I gave the cashier a $10 for my 4-way, and she replied by saying "you're lucky" and looked at it up in the light. The whole time my friend and I were eating, she (and her coworkers and manager that were all called over by her) was checking the $10 up in a light and pointing me out to everyone. It's like "do you really think I'm stupid enough to use fake cash?" I now go to Festhaus.

There's always the option of taking a few extra minutes to travel outside the park to eat.

Actually, IF they close the park as they say they will for the hour, I cannot imagine why you couldn't leave the park during the day and re-enter ONCE at any time during the Haunt that day....once Haunt starts you cannot leave the park and get back in. Supposedly. Except when they let you, which has from time to time been reported here. They ain't supposed to, but people do leave medicine in the car, etc....

I've worked in food service off/on for almost 7 years now and there is always someone eating in the back room or wiping their face and then handling the food. It's expected. That doesn't make it right. As for the customer service, I think Kings Island's is good, but Holiday World's is better. They'll give you extra condiments and stuff without being asked to do so. The prices and the food quality of some of the restaurants is what I don't like about the restaurants at KI. One thing that gets me is that they tend to get rid of the really good restaurants (chinese buffet in International Street) and keep 2nd rate ones (pizza station in the Festhaus).
