Worst Coaster you have ridden

Featured Replies

Mean Streak. A cool layout to look at, but it's boring, rough, slow, and leaves you feeling like you were just beaten by the mafia in a dark alley with bats.

Lol that was a weird simile.

I love similes

Easily T2. To me Son of Beast and Mean Streak are smooth compared to T2.

I may be the only one, but I like the Mean Streak - The thing I can't stand about the Python is that the cars are so small that everytime I ride my knees bang into the metal bar, it's a killer.

I'm one of those people who like SoB and Mean Streak (although I haven't been to CP in years), but would rank a couple of rides that many other love closer to the bottom of my list - Gemini and AE (especially when you follow Jacksons advice and try and turn around and look behind you - ouch!).

I'll second that about T2(never been on Mean Streak). After my gf and myself were exiting the ride she said,"What the h***?"i actually could not believe that it was steel and not wood.Made me miss SOB and my love/hate relationship with it.(hate the roughness, but love the speed and drops)

For me it would have to be Hurricane at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion (http://rcdb.com/595.htm). The first year it was rough but you could enjoy it. However, in its last years, it was unbearable. With SOB, in my opinion, the rosebowl is the worst part, but after you get past it you can enjoy the rest of the ride. However, with the Hurricane, it was constant pain until you hit the brakes.

I did love the placement of the coaster and the station. I always enjoyed getting off and looking down on the bustling and beautiful Ocean Boulevard.

For me, it would be Mean Streak. I think it might have been where I sat, though (In the very back seat.). The strange thing about this is that I actually want to like the ride and will be riding it twice Sunday (Once in the middle and once in the front.).

The coaster that I WILL NOT ride no matter how much anyone tries to persuade me is Blue Racer. I love Red Racer to death, but the blue side just equals PAIN in my opinion.

Mean Streak is the only wood coaster I've ever been on that I could consider bad. And I blame that on it being so over trimmed. I'd love a trimless ride, though I'm sure it'd probably be painful.

my least favorite coaster is maverick, mainly because of the quick turns after the first drop that cause my ears to hit the restraints and because of them launching you at 70mph just to slow you down to 5mph three seconds later.

^ I agree that launching right into a trim is a little odd, but I don't know that I'd enjoy the second half without the trim. Those Stengel dives are already borderline choppy and I'm not sure I'd want to be going any faster through them!

Manhattan Express is easily the worst steel I've been on. The original X comes in a distant second. I will say that the modifications have made (now) X2 a slightly better experience. I won't ride Ninja at SFOG or any of the hang-and-bangs. No credit is worth that.

Worst wood goes to SOB, hands down. GASM at SFOG and Wild(e) Beast at Canada's Wonderland round out the win-place-show. I'd say Georgia Cyclone would be up here too, but I think that's more "aggressive" than rough.

Texas Giant, the magic carpet ending as it is called is god awful. I really hope the renovations it goes through will greatly improve that ride.

The Mean Streak is a bit of a rocker, but I wouldn't consider it near as rough as SOB

I guess the coaster gods were with me when we rode Ninja at SFOG. I rode it 3 times without any roughness or headbanging.

The worst wooden coasters I've been on,

Geauga Lake, Villian

Kings Island, Son of Beast

Myrtle Beach Pavilion, Hurricane

Six Flags Great America, American Eagle

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Twisted Twins

Six Flags St. Louis , Boss

Cedar Point, Mean Steak

Worst Steel,

Coney Island Pepsi Python

Geauga Lake, Double Loop

Geagua Lake, Head Spin

Kings Island, Vortex

Six Flags Great American, Demon

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, T2

Six Flags St. Louis, Ninja

Sky Plaza Comet

Located in Pusan, Korea. It was the downright jerkiest, bumpy, headache enduing, craziest, dumbest, coaster I have ever been on. Oh, and the worst coaster I have ridden as well. And the fact that it was my first real coaster did not help.

The twists were not heart-lined, and they used wheels to guide the train and trust me going over those wheels made the train bounce up. The wheels lifted the wheels off the track it almost seemed and bashed them back down when each wheel lost contact with the train.

Half the time the coaster was closed.

Hmm...a very close call between T2 and Invertigo.

I find Mean Streak twice as rough as SOB. Mean Streak is my absolutle least favorite coaster, followed by Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Dorney Park's Woodstock Express.

Invertigo? That's a new one. I'm guessing you don't like it because of the head banging. I guess that happens on every inverted coaster. One more thing: Is T2 at Kentucky Kingdom?

Yes, T2 is a SFKK. It is the worst hang & bang I have been on but not the worst coaster.

ok. I am seeing a pattern. Some have said coasters from CP, and maybe even the crypt...(not a coaster)...but the most I have seen is SFOG. Are the rides there that bad??

I dont like being launched into a trim either..... But before that I love the ride

Hercules at Dorney Park, only coaster I swore not to ride again.

And you now cannot ride it again, because Hydra showed up and killed it.

McSalsa, rippin off Terpy...not because of hate, but...for no reason.

The worst coaster i've been on would have to be Son of Beast, but only because I have only been on a very small amount of coasters (All the KI coasters + 3 at Islands of Adventure if you count the two sides of dueling dragons as different coasters, two at Disney's Magic Kingdom, and Gwazi at Busch Gardens) and while they were all somewhat enjoyable, Son of Beast was definitely the least enjoyable of the bunch.

I guess so. Although I remember in the topic about Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, someone said that KK was a stinker, but then these three were best: Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, and Six Flags Over Georiga. Honestly I didn't even know there was one in Georgia!

The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis and Looping Star at Beech Bend, both are horrible rides. Mean Streak at Cedar Point is getting worse everytime I ride it but I can still manage to ride it and walk afterwards.
