gabelogan99
I'm thinking about going to the job fair, but I don't know. I have my application in and it's for the smallest or maybe second smallest department in the park with little to no guest interaction. Colonel_SoB_fan
I just applied for the human resources department. I hope I get the job, it would be good experience for my Public Relations major
tycoonrebel7188
The Job Fair is to interview to get job. You sir have already attained a job. So no, there is no need for you to go to the Job Fair, unless the Human Resources department told you there was a need for you to go. mech
Thanks! FYI- I will help you guys out on Flight of Fear by turning off the trims and the lights! (I know I don't have the power to do this, but maybe I can convince them it will save energy?) we all can dream ...
Lance Stevenson
I just a few minutes ago went online to the website to check on my app status and was told it's still under review by addmissions. The job fair is this coming weekend. Should I go or wait. I live less than 5 minutes from the park.
Guest KINGSISLANDMASTER
I would like to say that you can hve a interview as long as you turn the proper age by the day the park opens.....So for example if you want to work into rides and you are 15, well sorry but as long you turn 16 by April 17 you can get hired.....ok
mtl2013
Really? I thought you had to be the proper age at the time of the interview..? At least thats what I was told.
tycoonrebel7188
^You are correct. My brother is 15 at the moment and turns 16 a week and a half after the park opens. He applied and received a response email saying to call to set up an interview two weeks before his birthday. So it seams the park has changed their hiring practice slightly. I had been told in the past of people applying and getting hired while 15 but not being able to train or work until they had turned 16. The Interpreter
And it is probably not a good idea to discuss inside aspects of the job here. "They" do not like that...and sometimes do something about it.
Lauren
Hi! I am new to this site, so bare with me! I had a question about jobs at Kings Island. I applied around a week ago, and it says my application is under review, so I plan on going to the Job Fair this upcoming weekend. Now, during the summer I have cheerleading that would kind of interfere with the job, because I wouldn't be able to have a regular schedule. Is Kings Island flexible with hours and conflicting schedules? I could give them a schedule of my cheerleading so they know exactly when I can't work. I live like 30 minutes from the park, but I really really want this job! Thanks!
coaster_junky
it would be best to call or e-mail the park about this question.

Kings Island is pretty flexible with schedules...you just need to give your availability for each month and they try to schedule around your conflicts, so long as you don't have too many conflicts! If you have any more questions feel free to PM!
Guest KINGSISLANDMASTER
Well I would say that when you get interviewed , don't tell them that you can't work certain day because that limits the possibility of you being hired.....let them know that you can work any time......now for when the time of cheer leading starts let the park know 2 weeks ahead of time that you need certain times off.............always 2 weeks ahead of time so that they can find a replacement............ The Interpreter
...you might want to read the post right above yours. Two weeks will not cut it... And lying is not a great way to start out on a job...

The Interpreter
Nope...I was telling KINGSISLANDMASTER he might want to read Cory Butcher's wise post... I stand by my post...
Guest KINGSISLANDMASTER
It is not lying....but if you want the job let them know that you can work anytime......and FYI I work there and believe me or not but in MY department you must give 2 weeks notice f you want days off.........So I am right.... The Interpreter
Call it what you will, but to knowingly tell them you can work anytime when asked during the interview, while knowing you have schedule conflicts later in the summer can hardly be called truth telling. CedarPointer
Nope...I was telling KINGSISLANDMASTER he might want to read Cory Butcher's wise post... I stand by my post... Guest KINGSISLANDMASTER
Alright well I mis read the last part of Cory's post.......as long as you don't have a huge amount of conflicts they can work around you....forgive and forget...but the other part I spoke of is true.... AZ Kinda Guy
As far as Kings Island is concerned she tried out this summer and made the squad.
The Beast Rider
And it is probably not a good idea to discuss inside aspects of the job here. "They" do not like that...and sometimes so something about it. You are quite right. "They" have made it quite clear to some that "they" do not like enthusiasts. Being a member of this site qualifies you as one.
coaster_junky
"they" should like enthusiasts, we can bring them quite a bit of money between a normal visit and paying to be part of events like ride warriors
The Interpreter
Events like what? Terpy, always careful what he says...
coaster_junky
ride warriors, ace'r events, fall freakout(do they even do that one anymore?), beastbuzz (same question as fall freakout.), but anyway, there are some of them that went on at Kings Island.
The Interpreter
If the events brought money into Kings Island (as opposed to costing far more than they bring in), you'd see more of them, not less of them... Terpy, who has perhaps said too much already
coaster_junky
oh, i didn't know that it cost the parks that much to put on something like that, i just always figured that it was just a normal day at the park, you just got a couple of extra benefits, that didn't cost the park anything (walk-backs, meet and greets and things like that.)
