Every two years we get some kind of new ride.Tomb raider 2001.Delerium 2003. Italian Job Stunt Track 2005, Firehawk 2007, and Diamondback for 2009. So next year we probally are going to get some new ride unless there saving for something huge.

tomb raider opened in '02, not '01, and you can't go by a pattern like this, it all depends on the parks budget.

Exactly. Don't forget that huge debt that Cedar Fair still has to pay off.

The money should go to Sob If Cedar Fair or the park has the money but look at intimidator 305 And Intimidator they had the money for it.

They really did not have the money to buy them, they even tried to cancel the construction of them both. I think that is correct.

Patterns don't work in the amusement park business. Honestly, I don't think we will get a new ride next year. Planet Snoopy came along, as well as some other different projects at KI.

Maybe 2012. And call it "The End." (Haha, I really don't believe in 2012 anyways.)

So actually we got something major every year from 1987-2007. 2008 was Kings Island's first year in 20 years without getting something major.

Comparatively, Islands of Adventure:

1999 - Park opens

2000 - Flying Unicorn & Storm Force Acceleration

2001 - Nothing

2002 - Nothing

2003 - Nothing

2004 - Nothing

2005 - Nothing

2006 - High in the Sky Seuss Trolly Train Ride (existed from park opening, but actually began operation in 2006)

2007 - Nothing

2008 - Nothing

2009 - Nothing

2010 - Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey

So 2010 is the first time in 10 years that Islands has gotten something brand new... Just sayin'!

Agreed. Islands of Adventure opened as "the most technologically advanced park on Earth." It might not be considered that anymore, but even ten years later with virtually no additions besides a kid's coaster and a teacup ride, it's still above-average in technology, and the paramount of American theme parks. Again, quality over quantity.

With all due respect, I would in no way call Islands of Adventures the paramount of American theme parks. Not even close. Like it or not, one or another of the Disney parks has that one locked down tight.

If we are not getting a new ride in 2011 why would they go ahead and add starlight experience. If there was nothing planed for 2011 I would think that they would add starlight experience next year and use it as a new attraction on there ad campaign.

So I think we are getting a some new water slides and fresh pain in Boomerang Bay for 2011.

Fresh pain?

Oh, my.

Terpy, who keeps thinking of waterparks and wedgies after that particular line...

My fault I meant paint

It be cool if they expanded And added so tubes rides since they're fast. And get some world record slide would be nice.

Looking through patterns in King's Island's past doesn't work when you consider that the park is run by a different company. When we look through Cedar Fair's past:

2010 - Intimidator/I305

2009 - Prowler/Diamondback

2008 - Behemoth/Geauga Lake Rides

2007 - Maverick/Renegade/Firehawk

Next year I think we can plan on something new for Knott's Berry Farm and possibly Dorny Park. The year after I think we could have something added for Cedar Point. That is assuming that Cedar Fair finds a balance in their budget, which from the looks of it is a difficult thing to do.

I don't see anything impressive added at King's Island until the SOB problem is taken care of. Until then, Diamondback will continue to suffice the general public as something new and novel.

Guessing a new ride at ki won't be until 2012 which is the ki 50th anniversry

You must mean the 40th...not the 50th....thats not til 2022.....lol

And yet, next year will be the 40th season...

If you want to know what KI will get in 2012, I'd keep a watchful eye on what CW (Wonderland) gets in 2011... that *seems* to be Cedar Fairs process thus far.

Shaggy

Unless I'm missing something (Which I must be), CW getting a Beemer similar to DB one year later does not a pattern make.
