AZ Kinda Guy
I came across this very cool website and even stumbled onto some pictures and a story about the old munnitions plant that runs along the banks of the river. Enjoy! For some reason a link to the page wont work but a search on Google for "Forgotten Ohio" will take you to it. Once at the "Forgotten Ohio" main page go down and click on "Ohio Exploration" and then from there click on "Peters Cartridge Co"....Enjoy! EDIT BY SOBRIDER!!!! Peters Cartridge Co Theres your URL sparky Edited January 1, 1970 by sobrider
Beastfreak
I've wanted to go in there for years. Good thing I haven't. Don't need to fall through some elevator shaft or get arrested.
fryler87
Man those pictures are crazy...I sure wouldn't want to find myself there with nobody else at night. It reminds me of this old school called Amanda Elementary. Can't remember which city it's in, but I can see it while we go to Oxford, Ohio. Heh, looks like a great place for that old show, FEAR on MTV. Can this place be seen from a point in the park?
coasterrz
I`m fairly certain that you can see the chimney and the shooting tower from both Drop Zone and the Eiffel Tower. When on Drop Zone, look behind Top Gun and Kings High School, and in the Little Miami River Valley and I think you can see it. I also think you can see it from the Eiffel Tower if you look behind Son of Beast. However, Son of Beast may actually block the view of it from the Eiffel Tower, as I`ve never looked specifically for it before.
DegenRider
My cousin's grew up in Kings Mills and they went in there back in the day (early 90's late 80's) Lots of stores and crap from when I was little.

Uhh... The tower is much taller than SOB. Plus this factory is much farther away than that. You may be able to see it I'm not sure... it is rather far down that hill to the river and surrounded by many tall trees. I do know that you can see Drop Zone and the Tower from the bike trail about a 1/4 mile from the factory. coasterrz
I kn ow the Eiffel Tower is taller than Son of Beast. However, I`m not sure if the structure of Son of Beast blocks the river valley or not. I think it might not block the river valley and you can see the tower, but I`m not sure. This is one of those things that I wish I could find out by riding to the top of the Eiffel Tower. However, when the park opens, I`ll probably forget all about this thread. BoObKiNoS
That building is supposed to be haunted. Its commonly known as the 'powder factory' and is the site of many people triyng to go into it at night on dares about it being haunted. This is one of those things that I wish I could find out by riding to the top of the Eiffel Tower. However, when the park opens, I`ll probably forget all about this thread. I did some calculations that might just help. Remember, these are just therordeical and may not be too acurate. I did not take into acount the evlevation of the land and anything else. By looking at the arial photo from TerraServer, you can see that the Eiffel Tower is approximently 1080 feet from the lift hill for SOB. If some one were to look down from the Eiffel Tower (I figured about 300 ft for the observation deck, correct me if Im way off) twords SOB, the lift hill would block about 2900 ft of ground (Compleatly flat structures little more than a half mile away). Assuming that that this plant is 50 ft or so, this would mean that as long as it is at least 2250 ft away from SOB it could be seen. Like stated earlier, this is only theroedical and several assumtions were made about heights, and that this structure is in a direct line with the SOB hill. Also, trees and other such obstuctiuons may be in the way that can not be accounted for. If someone can provide me with an arial shot of the plant (with SOB and Effel tower in them) and some better assumtions, please, by all means, give them to me and I'll try again. shadow2k3
That's some pretty crazy stuff. The hauntings are pretty creepy once you think about it. You'd never catch me in that area, I don't want to get arrested. ~S~

skatefanjeff
I really like the site. I have driven past the Dayton Hospital a couple times and it is just scary looking at, that is one place I would like to check out.
waterworkrulz
Holy **** never want to be in that place at night.
fyrfyter
As cool as all this sounds, I am guessing that it will never be taken over by the park. I would bet that anything that has served as a munitions plant probably has high lead contamination levels.
