McSalsa Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 OK, here's a new idea I came up with: a "what would you do if this happened" poll. The situation: You are on your way to Kings Island, and someone who is already there texts you and tells you Diamondback(some idiot threw a sock in the chain lift engine and it caught fire), Firehawk, Delirium, and Invertigo are all broken down and Son of Beast is still closed. Drop Tower is closed for high winds as well, but the weatherman says they will end at around 4PM. The park is also a bit crowded, it's not crazy but the lines for Flight of Fear, Beast, and Vortex are VERY long (Over 1 hour each) due to the closing of the other coasters/rides. It is also somewhat hot out, 85* F. Do you... ...turn around and go home to wait for another day to visit KI? ...go on, and simply ride rides that aren't broken/closed and endure the longer waits? ...go to the park, but avoid even the open major rides due to the lines (hitting stuff like Flight Deck, Racer and Adventure Express instead etc etc) ...go to a different park? ...throw a tantrum? What would you do? Enjoy the poll. If you don't like it, click back. PS: Yes, I am fully aware someone else did a similar "what would you do" poll, but that was about line jumpers. Quote
Fear the Four Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I remember back in 08' Kings Island had a electrical problem. Fountains were not working along with The Beast, Son of Beast, Red racer, Drop Tower, most of the water rides, and Flight of Fear. After I circled the park I got bored pretty quick and just left. Outdoor Man Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 wouldn't affect us kids-area dwellers. Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Keep going and ride rides that are still open. Because I live far away.... Quote
Dbfan Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Since I live far away I would stay and endure the wait. Quote
markr Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 You forgot to include another option for a hot day-the water park. Quote
muppetfan1999 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I'd just go and just do what I always do. My favorite parts of the park is the "thrill rides" in Planet Snoopy and the tamer rides in Coney Mall, along with Way Too Much TV, so I probably wouldn't need to deal with long lines. Quote
TylerRider Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Here is a good question. Would you close Diamondback for a year for Son of Beast to reopen with a perfect fix and stay for many years, then next year Diamondback would reopen. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I may indeed live far away, but I'd go, ride what I wanted that was open, observe how the park and its employees and guests handled the situation, then head out somewhere else. Terp, who has been known to drive 10 hours, ride one coaster, get in the car and drive some more, spend a night, drive 10 more hours, ride another coaster and then go home.... Quote
jcgoble3 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 While I love the "big" rides (Beast, Diamondback, etc.), I could spend all day on Flight Deck and The Racer. Either that, or I'd hit Boomerang Bay. P.S. Who voted "throw a tantrum"??? Quote
KIfan1980 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 P.S. Who voted "throw a tantrum"??? Someone who was being honest. Can you imagine the topic and the number of tantrums that would be thrown here on KIC? How about those that would occur on Channel 5? Quote
Oldiesmann Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I only live 30 minutes from the park, but my response would be about the same as Terpy's. I would find plenty of other things to ride, then stand around and see how people handled the situation. Afterwards I'd likely post my thoughts about how things were handled, guest reactions, etc. on KIC Quote
Guest rcfreak339 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 That was...the craziest question I have possibly ever heard. Quote
