Diamondback96
http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/admission/passes/index.cfm Am I blind, or do I not see normal season passes there? Or does KI start selling them around Memorial Day, when Gold Passes are no longer available? Season passes go on sale tomorrow, BTW.
Coney Islander
Well... There goes my chances toward getting a season pass!
chaddie
Usually, the idea is that you "upgrade to gold for free". That is what it has been in past years when you buy early. The regular passes usually come out once Gold are gone. Right, Terpy?
bkroz
^ Exactly. Gold Passes are probably all you'll see for the remainder of the 2010 season, since they're currently priced to cost the same as a regular Season Pass would be. The page says: All season passes that are purchased during the fall sales period at the park will automatically be upgraded to Gold at no additional charge, providing guests with free season-long parking – a savings of $39.99 – along with a number of VIP benefits such as early rides, early entry into the 15-acre Boomerang Bay Water Park, discount offers on meals, a reserved parking area and more. The fall $69.99 season pass offer is a way of helping families cut back on expenses without compromising family fun and entertainment. The average family will save more than $100 by taking advantage of this deal before October 31. In other words, until October 31st 2010, Gold Passes are $69.99 - the same price that a Season Pass will be this winter & next year. So why would they offer Season Passes for sale right now? If the choice is $69.99 for a Gold Pass, or $69.99 for a regular Season Pass, who would knowingly buy a regular Season Pass? And yes, some people would accidentally - but some of them would certainly figure out what they missed when it was too late and feel cheated and deceived, and the park would hear about it. Of course, things do change, so who knows?
windshawne
Do they process the pic and all that now or do you have to wait til next spring?
chaddie
You have (in the past) been able to do it all the same day.
windshawne
Good-let's hope that doesn't change. If I get a piece of paper, it will be missing by spring, guarantee it.
chaddie
I am sure they will process, but, as always, call the park to be sure.
The Interpreter
UH, notice there is NO mention of free parking at other parks with a Platinum Pass on Kings Island's website for 2011 year either (just as there was not for Carowinds): http://www.visitking..._pass_perks.cfm Is Cedar Fair doing the same thing as Six Flags, making parking passes good ONLY at the park where the season pass parking/season pass is purchased? The KI FAQ still refers to 2010 and DOES mention free parking at other Cedar Fair parks with Platinum Passes.

Terp Id wait on the Six flags Parking thing I have asked Six flags St louis Facebook page if there will be a all parking for all SF parks and they pmed me and said wait there be a nother option for the parking thing. My guess is there will be a nother deal after the Oct 31st thing for SF. Will Six flags do a 3 pass system deal like CF does Reg Gold and Plat type deal we will have to wait and see but i tend to Process my next years passes before the parks close for the season so I don't have to worry about waiting in those long lines Aka Dollywood. Id like to have my pass in my hand when the park opens for the season. As for CF plat passes it says on the KI blog they will go on sale at a later date. What bugs me is the parks are only thinking about the Locals not everyone in general. And CFs Flagship park is a Resort park not a local park like KI. just my 2 cents . The Interpreter
Yes, at Kings Island. The question I'm asking is whether 2011 Platinum Passes include free parking at parks other than the park where processed. Neither Kings Island's nor Carowinds' site currently addresses this...and they did last year. As for Six Flags, I know what I'm saying. The BACK of the 2011 Six Flags Season Pass says: "A regular Season Pass Parking Pass is only valid at the park where it was purchased." (Yes, regular...perhaps leaving the door open for an additional charge for chainwide parking) A 2010 Six Flags pass says: "Season parking passes may be used at other parks." Compare Cedar Fair, where the 2010 offers made a big deal of free admission and parking at all Cedar Fair parks, and the 2011 Kings Island and Carowinds Platinum Pass offers mention free admission at other Cedar Fair parks...not a word about parking.... PKIDelirium
http://www.wildwaterfun.com/public/admission/season_passes/index.cfm Geauga's waterpark site says: 2011 Cedar Fair Platinum PassValid for admission and free parking at Wildwater Kingdom, Cedar Point, Kings Island and the other Cedar Fair parks and outdoor waterparks. The Interpreter
Thank you! Let's hope that's accurate and stays that way wherever purchased...or I may be buying my Platinum Pass at Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom.
Snowman
Does anyone know what the Gold passes will be sold for after Oct. 31? Also, If I buy a Gold pass now and decide to upgrade to a Platinum next season what will that cost? Do they have discounts in the spring, or is it better to buy now? Thanks in advance for the answers. This is our first year in Cincy!

Thanks in advance for the answers. This is our first year in Cincy! They typically don't release the price points for after the fall sale this early. Once it gets closer to the Oct. 31st deadline, they may release the 2nd price point or they may not until after the sale is over. If you buy a gold now and decide to upgrade to platinum, what they do is charge you the difference between the price of the platinum price at that time and what you paid for gold. As far as spring vs. now, historically it's always been better to buy now in the fall.

The Interpreter
First, the Carowinds season pass page has been fixed, and the Platinum Pass language clarified: http://tickets.carow...season_pass.cfm And, as also seen at Dorney: http://www.dorneypar...ntral/index.cfm 2011 Platinum Passes DO include parking at other Cedar Fair parks! Oddly, Kings Island's website seems to indicate that KI is not yet selling 2011 Platinum Passes...
UnrealNightmare
If this holds true for all parks it's sad to say it but that's one more reason for me not to return to any other Cedar Fair Parks next year.
The Interpreter
Huh? Cedar Fair 2011 Platinum Passes DO include parking at all Cedar Fair parks, it appears. Six Flags regular season pass parking for 2011 is only good at the park where sold.
UnrealNightmare
Haha I could have sworn your post said Don't include. That's what I get for working 12 hours a day then coming home to check KIC.
Oldschool75
I am getting a pass for next year. Can't beat the deal of $69.99 for a gold pass and free parking. This will be the first time in 18 years I have bought a season pass. :)
