They also open after KI. I don't know if they would have been able to start earlier either, their winters are a lot different up there.

CP opens May 14th, that's only 2 weeks after KI. If I remember right the cement was already poured and curing two weeks ago.

Maybe KI is farther along because they're relying so heavily on it to be the cornerstone of the park's ERT!!

Whoops....... too soon?

Looks like they're expanding the octagon to a wider, more circular pattern:

I am guessing this pour might bring the concrete even with the footer of the ride. I think it then would be even with the bolds sticking up. I hope that makes sense.

That makes sense and I think that is what they are going to do as well.

Wow!!! Ya know, the more and more I look at it, It seems as if they plopped that thing right in the middle of the Midway! I wander where the cue line is gonna run for it. Seems to me I remembered the original plan was to put it off to the side beside Vortex, kinda where all those pop machines are. Anyone else agree that this seems like an Odd Location?!

Gee "Mr America" have all 5 of your posts been personal attacks? Haven't you been called out in other threads requesting to not make posts personal?

I have been a fan of this site for nearly a year and have seen many intense, informative, and entertaining posts and great converstaions by many people, but you seem to be one of the very few that feels a need to make personally insulting comments in replies to other peoples posts.

Very creative wordsmithing!

From Cedar Point:

They seem to be WAY behind KI.

The foundation cap for the Cedar Point WindSeeker was poured Jan 14th. This thread indicates that the KI WindSeeker foundation cap was poured around Jan 7th. Both will have had at least a couple of months of curing before vertical construction begins. All the other concrete work that KI has completed already is relatively simple and doesn't require an extensive cure time.

Looks to me as if they are preparing for another concrete pour. It also appears as if maybe the entrance to the ride will be located on the left? Notice they have some wood form work placed there. It likely won`t be long before we see the first piece of steel lifted into place...

And opening day for Kings Island is just seven weeks away from today!

Remember when everybody on here was figuring out how guests will get to the Action Theater? If you look at the entrance to the Action Theater you can see it looks like they're constructing a path to it. To get to it, you'd have to go around WindSeeker to the right where they built those shelters for the lockers or pop machines.

Edit: @CoastesrRZ- I did drive by the park today and saw the crane disassembled in the parking lot next to the ride pieces. So they're getting ready to, "Send in the cranes!".

Well, not everyone on here was figuring out how guests will get to Action Theater. At least one of us was pondering if Georgia summers are scorchers! Oh, Melinda? Well, we won't worry about scorchers unless and until the freeze has thawed...and hoping it won't be the night the lights went out in Georgia....

Terp, speaking in code yet again...

^well that post made me have to jump over on rcdb, to see georgia scorcher photos, if that were what we get (a replica of georgia scorcher), i'd be happy.

then i looked to see what other b&m stand-ups were in the country and to my surprise i found one at a certain park with a foggy future. is Cedar Fair pulling another geauga lake on us?

I am officially excited about WindSeeker. Just now, I happened to think how glorious it is going to be to up there, riding that in a nice circle, at night, in the park...with it all lit up....

And to compare...Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland....and Kings Island....

I wonder if that other place will knott make you remove spectacles on this spectacular attraction? If they don't, I might even have to make a trip out yonder. For real....

Come on now. I`m not the one that once said there was a giant blue B&M coaster up at Cedar Point....

And I thoroughly enjoy raving about the Raven. Sadly, I`m not certain if I`ll make it back out to Holiday World this season. I maybe hitting up Carowinds, Dollywood, and even potentially Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg this year.
