February 22, 201115 yr Is it just me or does the diameter of the foundation that will go vertical seem more narrow than that of Drop Tower? Pictures can be misleading on perspective, but it seems like it will be a little "slender."

I think you are right, but look today at the webcam, http://www.visitking...bcams/index.cfm they have flags out in a circle wider than the diameter of the foundation. Does this mean they are going to expand it out? Then it would look very close I think. I don't know if they did this the same way for DT or not?
February 22, 201115 yr WindSeeker has begun to arrive at the park. Did you happen to see something at the park?
February 22, 201115 yr Or just look on KI's twitter page. A picture of part of the tower was posted this morning.
February 22, 201115 yr According to the KI Twitter, there is another concrete pour today. Kings Island Twitter Another concrete pour today at the WindSeeker ride site. about 3 hours ago via web
February 22, 201115 yr They just put this video up an hour ago on facebook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S402ylZM0E0
February 22, 201115 yr I can't imagine moving that from the parking lot to CM. I hope they take a video of that as well when they decide to start moving that thing!
February 22, 201115 yr I hear that ants can carry a ton of weight compared to their body size! Lol! Kidding of course. I would think that they'd carry it via crane and through "Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular/Extravaganza/Celebration" whatever the official title is, either go through the path by the dodgems or through the path next to the Diamondback Splash Pool to CM.
February 22, 201115 yr They really need to update the web cam photos; you really can't call it a web cam. The verticle is up when you drive by the park. Not sure I understand your statement. I have watched movement on the webcam all day today and the date stamp and time is up to date. Seems like real time to me. Kidding of course. I would think that they'd carry it via crane and through "Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular/Extravaganza/Celebration" whatever the official title is, either go through the path by the dodgems or through the path next to the Diamondback Splash Pool to CM. Definitely don't think they will carry it on top of those new pavers!
February 22, 201115 yr ^How would they go about moving something of that size? My guess is they'll load it on a flatbed truck and transport it to a crane that will already be waiting in Coney Mall. That's what they did for Diamondback.

And then a couple pieces taking a 300 ft. plunge.
February 23, 201115 yr Looks like they're expanding the octagon to a wider, more circular pattern: I am guessing this pour might bring the concrete even with the footer of the ride. I think it then would be even with the bolts sticking up. I hope that makes sense.

February 24, 201115 yr Hey everyone, have not posted in a while so... hey to everyone that knows me! A few weeks back I moved into my own appartment which is located a little closer to KI, well, actually it is right next to KI. I see the park about a mile away when I pull into my parking spot. Nice view to say the least. Anyway, I passed the parking lot on my way to work this morning and already knowing the the first piece of the tower came in a day ago, I had to take a glace while driving by. I must say, the tower is quite large. I would not be surprised if it was an oversize load on the truck. It will be fun seeing the construction of the tower right from the porch.

March 1, 201115 yr More pieces of the tower have arrived. Pic posted an hour ago on this thread. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23358&view=findpost&p=417318
March 3, 201115 yr They also open after KI. I don't know if they would have been able to start earlier either, their winters are a lot different up there.
March 3, 201115 yr It's an entirely different environment with a consequently different foundation. Apples and Oranges never look the same but I guess WindSeeker foundations do
