trevor75
For crying out loud, the parents didn't do any active parenting and test the cheese before they let their child get their hands on it.
Dieseltech20
When my wife first visited Disney as a child she fell and broke her arm. Wonder if she can sue them? It seems to be the in thing right now. CHECK THE TEMP OF THE MOLTEN CHEESE BEFORE YOU LET YOUR CHILD SHOVE THEIR FACE INTO IT!
Gordon Bombay
I wonder if the nacho's were any good once the cheese cooled down.

Browntggrr
As a parent, I still check the food my kids eat- and they are 8 & 9. But hey- it's Disney's responsibilty to feed kids, not a parent's, right? I also question a parent's decision to allow a 4 year old to eat nachos to begin with.... muppetfan1999
How did the cheese get on his lip? Nacho cheese comes out very slowly (to me, at least) so it can't really "spill". It seems like the only way for it to get on his lip would be either for him to have eaten a nacho with a LOT of cheese or to have held the cheese container over his mouth. windshawne
Yes, mom or dad should have checked it before he ate it. It's about as frivolous as the mcdonald's hot coffee suit years ago. I'd like to share a little something a friend sent to me not too long ago-and this sums up where we were, and where we are now. This brought back many great memories I had forgotten about growing up. I don't know if this was actually said by Jay Leno, but life was much better before lawsuits and the government kept us safe. The quotes in parentheses are my thoughts, not part of the note. WE ARE AWESOME !!! OUR Lives are LIVING PROOF !!! To Those of Us Born1925 - 1970 :At the end of this email is a quote of the month by Jay Leno. If you don't read anything else, please read what he said. Very well stated, Mr. Leno.~~~~~~~~~TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s!! First, we survived being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then, after that trauma, we wereput to sleep on our tummiesin baby cribs covered with bright coloured lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets, and, when we rode our bikes,we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads. As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.. Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat. (I can attest to this) We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. (Done this many times) We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And we weren't overweight. (And lard favored vegetables) WHY? Because we were always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.No one was able to reach us all day. --And, we were OKAY. We would spend hours buildingour go-carts out of scrapsand then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.. We did not have Play Stations, Nintendos and X-boxes. There wereno video games, no 150 channels on cable,no video movies or DVDs,no surround-sound or CDs,no cell phones,no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from those accidents. We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping-pong paddles, or just a bare hand, and no one would call child services to report abuse. (And our friend's parents had permission to do the same, so we didn't DARE act up) We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls, and -although we were told it would happen- we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryoutsand not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers, and inventors ever. The past 50 to 85 years have seen an explosion of innovation and new ideas.. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.
CedarPointer
I hate the public. Hey, everyone- THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS ANYMORE. Remember getting awesome nachos as a kid at Taco Bell with your kids meal? NOPE! Not anymore, thanks to awesome people like this who want to make a quick buck! Seriously, is nacho cheese supposed to be cold? If I had nacho cheese that was just slightly warm, I would bring it back and complain. I guess this is why in 10 years parks will just sell freaking cold cuts. Can you see these kinds of people really strike a nerve with me? Browntggrr
In which case the parents should have said "oh stop, that's not a good idea." Nah, that is not the parent's responsibility, it's Disney's! My youngest daughter was burned by hot soup at home when she was 4 (which is why I am rather sensitive on this subject). My wife made the mistake of heating the soup for 2 minutes in the microwave and the soup spilled on my daughter's chest & stomach. Since her skin was so sensitive (due to her age) it blistered quickly. It appears to me, the nacho cheese incident falls along the same line. In a former life, I was a business that dealt with food & beverage. There is no good way to keep nacho cheese warm (hot enough) for both kids and adults, unless you have them microwave the cheese themselves- which will create numerous other issues. While I feel bad for the child, accidents like this happen. It just disgusts me that instead of the parents blaming themselves, they have to blame another party.
