coffee.19
I have an interview scheduled for Friday. The employee who called me said it was in the Human Resource Center and gave me really quick directions. Is it in/near the park? Thank you! CedarPointer
Once you go in the associate entrance (on Western Row Rd), you drive straight until you can park. It has a glass front entry door and a huge sign that says "HUMAN RESOURCES". You can't miss it.
Guest PizzaBaby027
If you need advice in your interview feel free to ask. Since I have worked for the park before I know what they want in someone, also it depends on the dept. Anyway best of luck to you and welcome to the site!! Guest rcfreak339
The only advice you need: -Be yourself. -Be talkative. -Be confident. That goes for any job interview, not just Kings Island. Good luck!
The Interpreter
Excellent advice for park interviews. However, for certain positions elsewhere, being talkative is not the best of all possible advice. Many interviewers, myself included, look for the interviewees' listening skills and ability to listen and adopt what they say based on what others are saying. A candidate who is talkative but only focused on herself or himself may not do all that well in a job interview. I'd advise seeing the interview as more of a conversation with the interviewer, not a chance to make a rehearsed speech where one simply must get one's own points in. If the interviewer, for instance, wants to talk about the Reds, and not how to run the company, one who rushes to talk about the latter and ignores the Reds probably isn't going to be considered for long or for much. MarketingExpress
Coming from someone who has done hundreds, perhaps even thousands of interviews for KI... First impressions are crucial, firm handshake, eye contact, and smile. Don't forget to dress to impress!
LongliveKingsCobra
Thats very important! Look them in the eye and say hello my name is ___________. Just be your self and think before you speak. You'll do great, they are not very formal interviews and are very low-stress situations!

kjkjkj
Don't overdress either though! For a seasonal position in the park, it wouldn't be appropriate to wear a suit and tie. lol
teenageninja
Suit may be a little much. A shirt and tie would not. You will be more likely to be hired if you are overdressed than underdressed.
Browntggrr
Don't forget to ask questions like: max hours available, OT, training and possible advancement - It shows intrest. Also, never speak negatively about a previous employer & turn a negative question into a positive answer (i.e. question:"Tell me something you need to work on." Answer: "I need to work on not being so meticulous in my work".)
MarketingExpress
Don't overdress either though! For a seasonal position in the park, it wouldn't be appropriate to wear a suit and tie. lol I wouldn't say "not appropriate." What would be inappropriate would be if one arrived to an interview in a t-shirt and ripped jeans. When it comes to an interview, there's no such thing as being over dressed. The nicer you dress, the more you will be taken seriously during your interview. It shows a passion for the job you are applying for. Outdoor Man
OK- since we are on the subject.... this goes for all. "Clean Up" your facebook pages. pictures of teens (obviously underage) consuming alcohol and excessive partying would disqualify you from earning an interview with my group. granted, Kings Island- with thousands of applications probably do not go that far (maybe they do)- but we can contact hundreds of personal character references listed on someone's application, but I would rather let their own actions speak. i find that to be more reliable. In 20 applications I've reviewed for positions since January 1, I've not contacted 13 based on what they felt was appropriate to broadcast publicly on Facebook. Next month I get to review Scholarship Applications. that will be fun.
flightoffear1996
I went to my first ever interview in a t-shirt and shorts and still got the job.
