biff
Hello to KIC. I have been reading this forum for awhile now and decided to share my trip report from yesterday. My little brother and I bought passes for the first time at haunt last year and decided to go yesterday. He was only able to stay until mid-afternoon so we really did not get to ride alot. We got there at 9:10am and found a nice spot in the gold pass lot and headed straight for DB. It was about 45 mins to get on but man thats what Ive been missing all offseason. Next we headed over to Firehawk. If ever there was a ride in need of a single rider line this would be it. Every train dispatched had 1-4 seats empty. I can see how it would be hard to do this but I think it would help out some. This was my brothers fav. coaster last year but it just didnt have what he remembered so outside of first thing in the morning I cant see us riding alot this year. Next we went over to Racer. Only the blue was open and it was a 30-45 min wait. Before continuing I have to point out that I get motion sickness pretty easily. I usually take dramamine before going to the park but didnt yesterday due to time constraints and really thought I would be fine. Well that was wrong. I dont know why but Racer really gets to me. I will remember the meds next trip. Next we toured the new Coney Mall improvements and those pavers really make a difference. Everything looked great. I bought a new WindSeeker cup for the season and we left for lunch. When we came back around noon, the pass parking was full so we parked a little far away. We went straight to Invertigo. It said it had a 90 min wait but it looked shorter than that so we waited. When we got to the station the train was on its way back through the loop and made a horrible sound and then didnt stop at the hill and went back through the station, it stopped just outside the station. Everyone in line decided to take off but a worker told us at the end of the line to leave that it wouldnt be very long. We decided to wait and actually got to see them replace a wheel on the ride. They ran a test run and let us on. Our ride went pretty good. We got off the ride after a 90 min wait so I guess the sign was right. The very next train had the same malfunction and people were stuck on the train again. So I guess we got lucky. We had to leave then as it was about 2:30 so even though we didnt get to ride a bunch it was still fun. You guys have a great forum here and I hope to stay here for the long haul. Also if anyone has any tricks for people who get motion sickness like myself I would greatly appreciate it.
Jasper
First off let me say welcome to the KIC Community, glad to have you as a member. The park was very crowded yesterday indeed and I did not know Invertigo lost a wheel, first time I have ever heard of it doing that.
The Interpreter
Indeed, welcome! You might want to divide that thing up in paragraphs, though. Much easier to read. Glad you had a good time... (and wheels get flat spots, wear out, etc...and get replaced a lot, especially on Morgan hypercoasters in their early years) EDIT: Thanks for the paragraphing! It helps! biff
First off let me say welcome to the KIC Community, glad to have you as a member. The park was very crowded yesterday indeed and I did not know Invertigo lost a wheel, first time I have ever heard of it doing that. It didnt lose it they just replaced one. I guess that didnt fix it because it did the same thing one train after ours. I think it was something with whatever grabs the train on the first hill. The Interpreter
That would be the...wait for it...honestly...catcher. And it may have been a different wheel the second time... Dry run days are such a good idea for oh so many reasons....

Dry run days are such a good idea for oh so many reasons.... What a perfectly technical name for something. I just thought it was neat to see them work on it. My brother is a CMC machine operator and I have a small background in manufacturing so we find that kind of stuff interesting.
KI FANATIC 37
Welcome to KIC! I've read a lot of the PTR's an haven't heard anyone talk about my favorite, Diamondback. How was I. And how was the line?
biff
Welcome to KIC! I've read a lot of the PTR's an haven't heard anyone talk about my favorite, Diamondback. How was I. And how was the line? Diamondback was friggin awesome!! If my brother didnt have to leave I would have just waited for it over and over. See I used to go to KI when I was a kid. I think Days of Thunder (at action theater) was the new ride the last year I went before last year. I then moved and later joined the Navy so I went 12 years without going to the park. It was going on a whim last year that made me remember how much I love the place. The only other hyper Ive ridden was Raging Bull at great america while in the Navy and DB just blows it out of the water. By far my fav. coaster in the park too! Strangely enough I dont get sick at all on it but cant ride The Racer without anti-emetics go figure.
