upstop Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 And they are farther away from the river....makes the park look larger from the road....I would love to see something major, but I don't expect much soon. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Titl A Whirl isn`t that great at capacity. It only has seven cars. Which if you figure 3 people per car is only 21 per cycle. Round Up can handle 42 per cycle. And Flying Bobs can handle at least 36 per cycle. Even the carousel can handle quite a few per cycle as there are 30 horses. Scream Machine on the other hand only can handle 10 people per cycle, but its ride time is really short. 1 Quote
westcoaster Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Did not get to go what ride sat idle all season? Could there be a return of a flyer? Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I'm anticipating a nice set of Flying Scooters. That would be perfect! 1 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 The ride that has been idled all season has been the Trabant ride. Unfortunately, as much as I would love to see a set of flying scooters installed at Coney, we are not going to be getting that kind of ride. We are going to be getting a more nauseating and intense creation. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Bart is coming to Coney of Ohio? Please no. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Never say never. Dear old Dad can't protect Sonny now. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Well Vic is steady at the helm of Coney for now. And I think they already have someone lined up to replace him, when he eventually retires. He has been at Coney since 1984. And yes, I never say never. I know strange things can happen. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 That's too bad, we like the Trabant. 1 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I loved Trabant as well. Sad to see it go. I am intrigued to see what will be coming. Currently the most intense ride at Coney (at least in my opinion) is the Round-Up. If it gets more nauseating and intense than that, it's going to be a great ride. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Here I thought Python was most intense... 5 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Python is rough and painful. Not really what I'd consider intense. Quote
jbt Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Trabant and Scrambler have always been my favorites at Coney Island. I recently rode Galaxi at Indiana Beach and it was a surprisingly very different experience than (Pepsi) Python to me. Perhaps, it was the different style trains. 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 It was also the coaster itself. 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Mustard, sauce and onions. Terp, who just HAD to. 9 Quote
upstop Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 More nauseating than Trabant??? A Wipeout perhaps? At least you can face whomever you are puking on... Quote
westcoaster Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 when will Coney Island announce their ride for 2014: Quote
pilotank Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 when will Coney Island announce their ride for 2014: I asked around during the fireworks on September 21st. The most I heard was nothing was set in concrete. Sorry, no pun intended. Which usually means nothing for next year because of budgetary concerns. There was a rumor about another kids flat ride similar to the old Whip. pilotank 1 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 There is something coming for next year. Rest assured of that. And it will not be just a kiddy ride either. 2 Quote
HarvestmanMan Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Will it be a combination of the Dodgems and the Flying Bobs? (Or, if you're being formal, the Flying Roberts.) 3 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Now now. Lets not start throwing my legal name around. It will not be what you speak of. But it will likely be an intense ride. I personally have never ridden this type of ride before... 2 Quote
HarvestmanMan Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Hm. Must be a combination of the Pipeline Plunge and the Bobs, then... Quote
BB1 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I hope we get an announcement soon, I need to make my 2014 budget with or without the Coney Isle visit soon! 3 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 A visit to Coney is pretty cheap, compared to Kings Island. You can do the rides and the pool for about $25 a person, and that is at the gate without any discount. If you are just doing rides, it will cost you about $12 to $13 to get in. Which is a pretty good deal for a day of fun. 1 Quote
westcoaster Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Lets hope its a great addition for Coney: Quote

Which is a pretty good deal for a day of fun. Still, it could be a old fashion Coney day or a small trip to the Beech Bend, or Strickers for that matter. Money is key in where to go, already in the 2014 season with my GP and that is a large drop into the bucket. Quote
Existential Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I hope its a quaint ride and not some midway lighter upper like at the fairs of late. Quote
