upstop
And they are farther away from the river....makes the park look larger from the road....I would love to see something major, but I don't expect much soon.

CoastersRZ
Titl A Whirl isn`t that great at capacity. It only has seven cars. Which if you figure 3 people per car is only 21 per cycle. Round Up can handle 42 per cycle. And Flying Bobs can handle at least 36 per cycle. Even the carousel can handle quite a few per cycle as there are 30 horses. Scream Machine on the other hand only can handle 10 people per cycle, but its ride time is really short.
westcoaster
Did not get to go what ride sat idle all season? Could there be a return of a flyer?
XGatorHead 8904
I'm anticipating a nice set of Flying Scooters. That would be perfect!
CoastersRZ
The ride that has been idled all season has been the Trabant ride. Unfortunately, as much as I would love to see a set of flying scooters installed at Coney, we are not going to be getting that kind of ride. We are going to be getting a more nauseating and intense creation.
The Interpreter
Bart is coming to Coney of Ohio? Please no.

The Interpreter
Never say never. Dear old Dad can't protect Sonny now.
CoastersRZ
Well Vic is steady at the helm of Coney for now. And I think they already have someone lined up to replace him, when he eventually retires. He has been at Coney since 1984. And yes, I never say never. I know strange things can happen. XGatorHead 8904
That's too bad, we like the Trabant.
Oldiesmann
I loved Trabant as well. Sad to see it go. I am intrigued to see what will be coming. Currently the most intense ride at Coney (at least in my opinion) is the Round-Up. If it gets more nauseating and intense than that, it's going to be a great ride.
The Interpreter
Here I thought Python was most intense...
Oldiesmann
Python is rough and painful. Not really what I'd consider intense.
jbt
Trabant and Scrambler have always been my favorites at Coney Island. I recently rode Galaxi at Indiana Beach and it was a surprisingly very different experience than (Pepsi) Python to me. Perhaps, it was the different style trains.

upstop
More nauseating than Trabant??? A Wipeout perhaps? At least you can face whomever you are puking on...
westcoaster
when will Coney Island announce their ride for 2014:
pilotank
when will Coney Island announce their ride for 2014: I asked around during the fireworks on September 21st. The most I heard was nothing was set in concrete. Sorry, no pun intended. Which usually means nothing for next year because of budgetary concerns. There was a rumor about another kids flat ride similar to the old Whip. pilotank
CoastersRZ
There is something coming for next year. Rest assured of that. And it will not be just a kiddy ride either.
HarvestmanMan
Will it be a combination of the Dodgems and the Flying Bobs? (Or, if you're being formal, the Flying Roberts.)
CoastersRZ
Now now. Lets not start throwing my legal name around. It will not be what you speak of. But it will likely be an intense ride. I personally have never ridden this type of ride before...
HarvestmanMan
Hm. Must be a combination of the Pipeline Plunge and the Bobs, then...
BB1
I hope we get an announcement soon, I need to make my 2014 budget with or without the Coney Isle visit soon!
CoastersRZ
A visit to Coney is pretty cheap, compared to Kings Island. You can do the rides and the pool for about $25 a person, and that is at the gate without any discount. If you are just doing rides, it will cost you about $12 to $13 to get in. Which is a pretty good deal for a day of fun.

Money is key in where to go, already in the 2014 season with my GP and that is a large drop into the bucket.
Existential
I hope its a quaint ride and not some midway lighter upper like at the fairs of late.
