Adventure Express Music

There have been many other posts on here about music on the rides and i thought this was interesting. On this past trip on saturday i was waiting in line for Adventure Express and heard the classical music played in the que. It really went well with the adventure that was about to take place. I got up to the covered tunnel that you walk over to get to the station and heard train whistles almost like they were coming from a far away mountain. It really reminded me of Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest. I dont know if anyone else has noticed this new effect but i thought it was pretty cool!

Isn't the music played in the ques from the Indiana Jones Movies? I haven't heard the whistles, but it's also been a while since I've rode the coaster.

I do believe it may be music from Indiana Jones movies but i'm not sure. The train whistle was a cool effect that kind of amped up the excitement.

The music and sound effects are not new. They were there when the ride opened in 1991.

I don't believe it's a direct theming to Indiana Jones (as there would probably be licensing issues with that...Lucas is a pretty good protector of his properties), but I think its safe to say that the music is "inspired by", "based on", and "intended to invoke" the music/sound from the Indiana Jones films :)

Yep, it really is Indiana Jones. Our park also plays music from Inception, Ride of the Valkyries, Harry Potter, Star Trek, and Oceans Eleven... Like PhantomTheater said, music liscencing works differently. Indiana Jones music has always played on that ride. My understanding (which may be flawed) is that the ride was originally intended to be themed to Paramount Pictures' Indiana Jones films, but at the last minute Disney paid (probably tremendously) for the rights to use the Indiana Jones property as an amusement attraction (likely for their 1995 Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland).

My guess is that you heard the "Rainforest" track that plays during the first portion of the ride (the drop into the first tunnel, etc). And it does contain train whistles that are distant and very reminiscent of Expedition: Everest, so you're not crazy.

I've uploaded it to Mega Upload so that you can download it here.

I've also uploaded the station music (the Indiana Jones music with the conductor speaking over top of it) and the music from the finale tunnel where the idol curses you. That's all that I have in my Adventure Express library, sorry!

Adventure Express opened in 1991, 2 years before Paramount purchased the parks, so I don't think that's likely unless Carl Lindner was planning on paying for the rights to Indiana Jones, which isn't likely. I could be wrong though.

Side note while we're on the topic, all the red lights were on in the 'Volcano' tunnel of Adventure Express when I rode last night, a welcome improvement over an empty tunnel but I'd love for them to add some fog or something.

Paramount: We couldn't quite get the fog machines to work on Italian Job or Adventure Express or Tomb Raider. But hey, you should give it a shot, Cedar Fair! I bet a big, smart, in-the-business owner like you could really do some good with them!

Last laugh indeed!

100% sure is raiders of lost ark in que not "inspired" regardless of who owned park at the time. also with the fog there also used to be mist machines before u entered the first tunnel after leaving the station, though its been years since thats been there

The mist machines were removed due to causing rust on the track...it was replaced years later by a fog machines which was were also removed for reasons already mentioned.
