PKI_flyer
I was looking at the other Paramount Parks websites and noticed that Great America still has Slim Time Live for this season, along with Meet the Nicktoons Live. Does anyone know why PKI removed Slime Time Live this year since it was such a popular show? I have heard some rumors as to why, but seeing that it is showing at PGA kind of hurts the validity of them. Overall PKI's entertainment line up this year is pretty week, I just hope Tuned In is worth seeing.
stephenmayes
Im not really sure if it has totally been removed. It may not be opening till mid june and they might have just not put it in the brochure yet....It would bad if they didnt bring it back... SML828
Slime Time Live no longers exists at PKI... It's a shame that they got rid of the last 'kids' show...

phattymcdave
So there's no more Nickelodeon show? Thats a **** shame, having worked in it for 3 years and as an in-park tech for 2 after that... memories just came crashing back and now I'm sad...grrr
andyatuc
The decision came from Nickelodeon itself. Not sure of the exact reason but it's not something we could really avoid. From what I gathered it was getting the axe across the board at every park. Speaking of which, I talked to a VERY upset family yesterday who "only come to the park to get [their] kids slimed!" We called an entertainment OD who came and discussed the issue with them. He didn't sound too happy about the decision either. Andy
Shman
There are many valid reasons for the removal of the Nick Show.....and there are also a lot of rumors flying around.....Basically the corprate folks at Nickelodeon decided that they no-longer wanted to shell out the money to produce that show....and instead they wanted to have a "Nicktoon Celebrity Party".....and they tried it out last year at (PGA????) and called it Nicktoons Live @ 5!!!........it went over fairly well and they decided to implicate it into all the parks this year. So that is more or less what is going on. And yes....speaking from personal experience there are many guests who are VERY upset about this turn of events.....but I do remember how unhappy people were when the original Nick show left and was replaced with a lesser quality show....people soon got over it. Now if I look into my magical crystal ball of the future......I would almost bet that this is the beginning of the end for the original Nick area......I bet in a few years we will see the removal of the theater and the Slime Maze in favor of a new Nick themed attraction......quite possibly that Super Saturator Water Coaster that has been rumored for a few years now. Andy Do you remember the name of the OD or the general appearance - I'm sure most the people who would be OD are the same ones from my days there...just feel like connecting without actually connecting It really is a sad thing that the show is gone, I was in it the first year that the show was "replaced with a worse one" and it was a bad show, the toilet wall = bad idea. But they atlest replaced it with another show....now there is nothing there....whooptie doo you can walk up and meet a person in a costume....doesnt sound like an even trade off.... I understand that it wasnt really PKI's decision but whoever made it should have atleast kept some kind of show... Tiny
PKI_flyer
I understand that the decision supposedly came from higher up then PKI management, but if it did why does PGA still have Slim Time Live this year? Just one comment about the shows in general, although I have not yet seen the tuned in show, PKI's show selection this year is pretty weak. No kids show, the magic of the movies getting so so reviews, and Karaoke renamed to Star Search Live is not that impressive.
Shman
Speaking of which, I talked to a VERY upset family yesterday who "only come to the park to get [their] kids slimed!" Yeah......I'm sure this family always came to the park....ran to the Nick Theater.....luckly their kids got picked to be slimed...and then left the park without doing anything else..... I HATE when people (esp. season pass holders) say thing like that......Sure I bet you came to the park today just to see or ride the one attraction that has been removed/or is not operating. Did they do anything else in the park that day???? Well then I guess they didn't come just for Slime time.

Scooby_Doo
I think the Slime Theater will be removed soon for a Nick attraction,Its very sad that slime time is gone my little cousins loved that show they loved the scooby doo show too but hey Iam sure that PKI will replace the theater with some thing nice if they do remove the theater that is. BoddaH1994
I'm willing to bet that there won't be a show there anytime in the near future. They totally removed the stage and everything. You'd think that since they have an ampetheatre right there in HBL that they'd have SOME sort of child-oriented show, but I guess not. DeliriumDreamer
Ahhh, I remember Slime time. It's first year, it was only a little green fountain in the ground, saying "Slime time coming soon". That next year was the greatest. It had games, REAL slime coming out of the GS-thingie, their shows were cool. (I remember, this wierd scientist lady....) anyway, they had slime showers, and a slime river, and of course, the water maze. Ahhh, it was sooo much fun... You Pick Live is the Winter Counter-part, see Slime TIme, even though filmed in florida, wouldnt be so nice in december. They both will run this summer on Nickelodeon

Return_of_Yogi
Honestly I think the theatre will stay. It is now the Character Facility, and they use it for that show and a Meet and Greet.

SOB_TOM
Question: You say that Slime Time LIVE was the last kids show, but technically Meet the Nicktoons LIVE is a performance as well. Theres a parade of Nicktoons right before the meet and greet.
DeLorean Rider
LOL, last year they used it for the employee PKI Idol. Good times
