jcgoble3
Great article! Thank you so much for posting this; it and all the other historical stuff posted over the past six months really helps pass the time in the offseason. Just make sure you've saved some stuff for next offseason!
TombRaiderFTW
Standbyme, you always post the coolest KI history on here. This is no different--thank you for sharing! I love this!
TromaKing
This was a really cool article. I think it would be really cool to see an compare and contrast as to the maintenance of when the article was written and now. One would hope that as much pride was taken on the trains as once was, however based on how the scenery has been neglected over the years I wonder if the detail on the trains has been as well.
SonofBaconator
It always cool that they recognize the railroad because without it, the park would not have its same charm.
Voicetek
Great article! I love how in some of the pictures you can see the old town scenery along with some of the old animatronic people in the towns. Brings back memories. Thanks!
CP&LERR Fan
They took off the air operating bell off the crowns this summer.
SonofBaconator
Wow, what a major bump. I love that article. When I see this stuff, I really start to hate the placement of Diamondback. The Railroad is the only original attraction from Rivertown and even though I'm a train freak, I would like to see the railway spruced up.

I would to, maybe Cedar Fair will bring them back since CP&LERR has animatronics
Tr0y
I would love to get a chance to be able to tour the round house, and see the morning routine of firing up the steam engine.

This is a May 1980 magazine article about the behind the scenes of The Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad. I am going to string this out over a few days because there is so much to read...and because I can! I hope you enjoy it. Where online did you find this magazine?
