coasterfanatic83
Well my double header finally got cancelled at about 11 when the dugout flooded, so I decided to go get some rides in with my cousin (TTD-120-420), my brother, and my girlfriend. We got there at about 1:30, and the pass processing line was minimal. Other than WindSeeker, which was down, and Firehawk, we managed to get to every other ride, some of them twice. The weather was bearable, and we were in line for Flight of Fear when it did rain, so we stayed dry. I would have to say the highlight of my day today was winning the Countdown to 40 prize of 4 VIP Tours while in line for The Beast. That will be fun. All in all, it was a good day and the park was wonderful after taking such a long time off. -coasterfanatic2012
bkroz
Glad to hear that this year's opening day when smoothly, even in the rain! We've all seen sunny days shutter half the rides on opening days past, and it seems like the park stood up to the challenge today.
Jasper
I actually never saw a ride go down today for something besides weather, all rides seemed to be running smoothly.
DBru
I'll support Jaspers statement. With the exception of WindSeeker, I didn't see a single ride "down" all day and all the coasters were running extremely well.
standbyme
I would have to say the highlight of my day today was winning the Countdown to 40 prize of 4 VIP Tours while in line for The Beast. That is QUITE a good highlight...congratulations!

jcgoble3
Congratulations on winning the VIP tour! You want to share it with a few of us? I actually never saw a ride go down today for something besides weather, all rides seemed to be running smoothly. Flight Deck and The Racer were both late to open, and Diamondback went down with a mechanical issue right before the noon storm hit and ran only two trains for a while after the rain stopped (I was told by the employee at the entrance that the two-train operation was due to mechanical problems and not weather). Otherwise, I didn't see anything else down for mechanical reasons.
The Interpreter
...other than Rivertown Junction.
jcgoble3
^ I was talking about rides, but didn't make that clear. Yeah, that was closed too.
Diamondbacker
Was WindSeeker down because of the threat to rain?
CoastersRZ
No, the ride did not look like it was quite ready for the season.
The Interpreter
That's not too shocking. FUN, keeping opening day patrons in suspense. Meanwhile, at Rivertown Junction, problems were draining the maintenance crew.
coasterfanatic83
There was still a crane inside of WindSeeker's loading/unloading area...

Dieseltech20
Vortex opened a little late and BLSC went down while we were in line for about 15 minutes.

Oldiesmann
Delirium went down a couple of times for reasons not known to me. Flight Deck also went down around 4:30 or so due to a problem with the restraints in one car.
Colonel_SoB_fan
^ When doesn't Delirium go down?
rotag
No, the ride did not look like it was quite ready for the season. not to mention the wind. i find it very ironic that WindSeeker cant seek wind when it is windy outside. anyone else noticed that too? TTD-120-420
It wasn't windy opening day. It wasn't open, because it was not ready.
rotag
there was wind when i went up on the tower that morning.
kiruler102
There was definately wind unless it was a magical ghost that kept on pulling on my jacket making it hard to walk.
Dieseltech20
It wasn't windy opening day. It wasn't open, because it was not ready. You obviously did not go up the tower. It was VERY windy on opening day. Just because you don't feel it on the ground doesn't mean it isn't there.
TTD-120-420
Well I should have said "it wasn't windy on the ground on opening day."
kiruler102
You still would've been incorrect... It was semi windy on opening day in the morning and in the evening. Well I should have said "it wasn't windy on the ground on opening day."
