What does Holiday World do when...

...the water main that serves the park breaks, and they cannot serve their free soda? :o They do this:

All I can say is: WOW. The Koch Family truly goes above and beyond to provide great service, and it shows. :) (Wonder what would happen if the same thing happened at Kings Island, Cedar Point, a Six Flags, Busch, Disney, etc etc...)

Hopefully, with the new CEO at the reigns of CF, the situation wouldn't be all that bad.

That is absolutely outstanding! The Kochs are just one example of the few businesses that actually seem to legitimately care about its customers.

I also hope it wouldn't be that bad with the current CF CEO. The July 4th power outage at KI a couple years ago showed what happens with Kinzel at the realm - continue letting guests into the park as if nothing is wrong, then refuse to issue refunds when they complain.

All I can say is wow. That is truly outstanding, the Koch's are a class act. I cannot wait to get back to Holiday World this summer.

On a slightly less happy note, if anyone still had doubts about whether some people will complain no matter what:

A few guests have complained that the park is not currently offering its complete line-up of soft drinks.

All you can do is shake your head.

How do the pallettes of beverages get to the park, and how fast?

They most likely are serviced directly by the local Pepsi distributor, who would deliver the 56 pallets on the same kind of trucks that deliver to a grocery store. They go as fast as the truck driver chooses.

If the main water main was to break and it was an extensive repair effort, the park (other business also) might be forced to close due to health and safety reasons. With no water pressure, there will be no water to prepare foods, flush toilets, fire sprinklers, fire hydrants to fight fires and other things. The park might not have a say in the matter and the fire department would require them. This would apply to all business and even schools, which had to close on various times due to the lack of water. Just like the power failure, it is all an act of nature and the park has no control over it.

I was at SFKK one day during a water main break. They set up tables around the park with gallon water bottles, pouring out cups of water for all.

Bottled soda was being sold at some of the fountain drink locations

Not bad for a six flags eh?

I have seen where schools had been required to close for the day if a major water main had broke due to no pressure for fire hydrants, unable to flush toilets, and drinking water. If the park's main water main had broke and repairs would take hours, they will loose their water pressure in fire hydrants, drinking and water for cooking and of course, no water to flush toilets. It is one thing to have bottle water to drink, but what if there is a fire and no water? What about water for rest rooms? The same thing can be said if all electricity was knocked out. How many parks have water towers as a back up like cities due for water needs?

^^Kings Island has generators for all the rides, and I'm sure there's portable and/or permenant generators for food service, should the power ever get knocked out. It has about 2-3 years ago, I remember watching a brief thing on the news (showed a clip of the Blue Racer coming over a bunny hill).
