Voicetek
Does anyone else feel like WindSeeker feels sort of crammed into the area that it is? It feels sort of squished into that little space right in front of the Action Theater entrance and The Vortex exit. It seems a little misplaced to me. I think I would've liked to have seen them actually tear down the Action Theater building and put WindSeeker back there. They already had a great queue line already built and it's not like they're REALLY using that building for anything useful anymore anyway except that overprice dinosaurs mini-movie. I think they just thought, "Hey we need a new ride, where do we put it? I know, let's cram it in the back by The Vortex in the middle of the walkway!" Bennett
Whew...I thought someone had lost it, which seemed rather daft. I like it where it is, gives a great view of the park, as well as the woods surrounding it.

I like the general area it's in, that's not what I'm saying. You'd have basically the same view if they just moved it back a bit. To me it just seems a bit crammed in the middle of the walkway. Snowman
^ Lost it, Bennett I about lost it when I read that. The title of your topic is confusing. Unless something has changed, the movie is free.

Thank you for last year's information. It's free this year. I was unaware that the movie was free. I have not been back there to check this year. I was just going by what was on the web site just a few minutes ago. They still have it listed at $5, perhaps they've not updated their info? Sonofbeast2.0
i think the $4 was all they needed to pay off the movie.
bkroz
The dinosaur exhibit self was and still is $5.00. Last year, the move alone was $4.00, but only $2.00 if added onto the the dinosaur exhibit (so you could do both for $7.00). This year, the movie is free. That's right, I do remember the bundle deal they did last year if you did both the movie and the attraction. I'm glad to hear the movie is free this year though, I kind of wanted to see it last year but didn't feel like spending the extra cash. Thanks for the info! Maverick00
I like your idea, I feel it would of been much nicer in between the two Racer turn a rounds.
Snowman
My understanding from an email sent by KI this spring is the actual exhibit is $5 and the movie is now free. edit: GYK beat me to it.
TombRaiderFTW
I kind of agree. Where WindSeeker is is nice, but I think I would have preferred it be in the grassy area between BLSC and the picnic area adjacent to Scrambler. That probably would have required more landscaping, but I think it would have still drawn attention to Coney Mall and made it usable for Vortex/WindSeeker ERT. (That, and I liked the old Action Theater entrance. But I'm sure I'm probably close to alone on that one.) That being said, I do still appreciate WindSeeker. I recently rode Sparkler at Holiday World, and I preferred WindSeeker to that. Sparkler's good, but, for me, it rotates almost too quickly. (Could be due to its much smaller size, but still. Anyone been on the taller Six Flags SkyScreamers?) Still a great addition for HW, though, as it's much tamer and adult-friendly than HalloSwings and has caused the Star-Spangled Carousel to move to a central position in the Fourth of July that will earn it many more riders once it opens. (It's now the centerpiece of the area, which is a title that didn't quite fit Paul Revere's Midnight Ride, in my opinion.) EDIT: From personal experience, I know it's free for the movie this year and $5 for the walk-through for Dinosaurs Alive. The 3D is much better than Spongebob! BB1
What always got me about WS is that its a larger and semi different version of Flight Comander , which sat only feet away from where WS is now, which makes me feel like a old ride had a "rebirth" into a new ride. To me the WS does not feel out of place, the only issue is that the AT enterance is now semi blocked by the behemoth ride.

I agree with you, I like the general area it's in but like you said, the Action Theater is being somewhat blocked now which makes it feel sort of crammed in there. I wish there was something that could've been done about that.
KIfan73
I think I have an idea of why WindSeeker is where it is…this is a thread I started a few months ago: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/24860-just-noticed-this/#entry448256
Jr for Birdy
I like where it is,but i still worry about someone dropping phone or losing a shoe, etc. While im standing anywhere near it! This seems like a serious issue just waiting to happen.

The alignment would be perfect even if it was where Action Theater is now. And now that I think about it, I too would love to have seen it in that spot. Imagine riding The Racer and seeing WindSeeker right in front of you as you crest the hill where the red and blue sides split off toward the turnaround. Titan
I would have liked for it to have been between The Racers too. I think it makes the midway feel more crammed, where it is now.
TheCrypt
I think that FUN tried their hardest to make sure that the exit of Vortex, the entrance and exit of WindSeeker, and the entrance/exit of the Dino Movie would not be too congested. I don't go to the park on crowded days like Saturdays anymore (too crowded for my taste-when Flight Deck has a line, you know it's bad!), so I don't know how this is on those days, but it doesn't seem so bad on the weekdays. Also take in to account that not many people are interested in the movie, so not many people head back there, leaving the walkway almost dead. Captain Nemo
Its location is a little RCT'ish. It looks great from a far down the midway, but up close looks quite crammed. If it wasn't for the theater being behind it it would not be an issue. My only problem is that its queue is way to small. I find it quite humorous that their wait time goes up to 120 minutes but the line can only hold 15 minutes. I think that would help with congestion around the park if some queues around the park held more people.
Maverick00
Has Kings Island's WindSeeker had long waits this season? When I've been to Cedar Point theirs has been a walk on every time. I go in the middle of the week when it's not that busy though.

Some on News some on Nick Some on Sports and Some on Diseny (depending on the part of the park). thier is a outside tv you can buy that is glare waterpoof etc. for about $5000 i beileve it is 55in. You can find them at Walmart (online at least).Oh and before anyone says anything about Diseny or Nick i have been in the kids area and heard Diseny music from the speakers (beuaty and The Beast to be exact)
bkroz
Music is a whole different animal, legally speaking. Paramount's infamous QTV (queue TV) system is still mocked on here. It didn't do much but irritate people and became a way to advertise more than entertain. They also showed Nickelodeon programming which, of course, is owned by Viacom. Sonofbeast2.0
oh ok but i find it a pain to wait in 1hr+ lines with little to nothing to do. FoF dosen't seem so bad becuase the video feed and stuff to look at.
bkroz
Which goes back to the discussion on themeing. Sorry to bring up Indiana Jones Adventure again, but that line is at least a half mile long, and every step of it tells the ride's story... Same with Radiator Springs Racers, Verbolten, Revenge of the Mummy... Even Space Mountain doesn't have much going on in line, but the setting and sounds around you keep you 100% engaged. A little goes a long way.
Sonofbeast2.0
Yea and I would have to say im a theme ahlolic. Yes i know with theming price and maintace goes up but if everything was themed to the max i wouldn't mind paying $180 for a pass each year. my family each pays $300 to renew are permir Uinversal Orlando passes. ( yes $300 for each pass $400 to buy a new one!)

As mentioned - a little theme can help here, but also can I suggest Conversation. Talk to your family/friends/whoever you came to the park with or even the group ahead of and/or behind you and get to know them a little. I've had some great times in lines at the park.
