TheCrypt
That might've just been a poorly written article, I can't imagine why it wouldn't be open yet (I saw a full POV test run somewhere on Youtube, and that was awhile ago, so I can't imagine testing hasn't been completed). The Interpreter
A call to the park reveals: A. The ride has not tested. B. The ride will not be open Wednesday. C. The EARLIEST expected opening day is mid-July. "Please call first." The park's telephone number is 304-429-4321.
The Interpreter
The park has STARTED installation. They HOPE to have it running by the end of July. http://www.herald-dispatch.com/x298199906/Camden-Park-begins-installing-newest-thrill
thunderbeast1968
Mini Delerium? Looks nice. My company will have it's annual outting at the end of August. I work in Huntington, WV, just down the road from Camden Park, and I had a co-worker tell me that he had also heard that Wal-Mart had bought the Camden Park land. I told him, it doesn't make sense to build new attractions, and then tear the park down for another Wal-Mart. (like our area needs another stupid Wal-Mart) Trust me, there is plenty unused property that would fit a store of that caliber. The Ceredo/Kenova area has a old Big Bear grocery store, that doesn't do much in the area. I think there is a Harbour Freight store residing currently. Ceredo/Kenova is less than 5 miles from the suggested land where Camden Park currently sits. Our fair town/city is crumbling quickly, so I think Wally World can find another piece of land to build, if they think they need another store nearby. The Interpreter
As WalMart itself has said, the South Point store is just across the river, in "no tax on food" Ohio.
TheCrypt
Interpreter, sorry for the confusion. I was actually thinking of Black Widow at Kennywood. Sorry!
The Interpreter
Rattler to open in next week or two. WalMart not buying Camden Park: http://m.dailyindependent.com/Independent/db_265782/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=j6Mj8wEt
KIBeast
I was told by the managers that the another main reason for no Wal-Mart at Camden's location is the problem with the flooding. Rattler looks really cool though.
Oldiesmann
I can't figure out why anyone would think this rumor was true. There's already a Wal-Mart just 11 miles from Camden Park which is much closer to I-64. Why would Wal-Mart want another store so close - especially one in the middle of a residential area that's 6 miles from the freeway?
Gordon Bombay
Why do people think that The Vortex is sinking?
KIBeast
Goofy rumor that started with Magnum XL200 and was somehow transferred to The Vortex. I believe the rumor about Magnum was an April Fool's joke ran wild by the enthusiast communty.
thekidd33
^Pretty sure that was rhetorical.
KIfan1980
And before The Vortex sinking rumor, was the rumor that sinking land was the cause of so many problems with The Bat on that land. Nothing transferred from Magnum - the KI rumor is older than that.
The Interpreter
Some Camden news. Also, Rattler seats 16: http://m.dailyindependent.com/Independent/db_265782/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=n8Wid1pQ
