July 7, 201214 yr Is there a way to make it so that topics made by users you've ignored don't show up on the forum page? I can't seem to find a way, but maybe it's possible? Thanks!
July 7, 201214 yr This is a similar topic, accidentally posted, sorry! http://www.KICentral...rom-the-forums/
July 7, 201214 yr I've never ignored a user on this forum (although I'm close currently to wanting to use this feature). Do you see anything when they post or does it not even register as a post? And don't worry Terpy, even though your constant "diversion" references have me baffled beyond belief, I'm not ignoring you
July 7, 201214 yr Author I've never ignored a user on this forum (although I'm close currently to wanting to use this feature). Do you see anything when they post or does it not even register as a post? And don't worry Terpy, even though your constant "diversion" references have me baffled beyond belief, I'm not ignoring you You just get a small gray bar instead of their post that says "You've chosen to ignore posts by [poster], view it anyway?". Unfortunately, their topics still show up, though.
July 7, 201214 yr There is also reporting the posts and/or user. Enough such reports and the user disappears, like magic. Sometimes for a while, sometimes for good.
July 8, 201214 yr Author I don't think posting a topic for every thought that crosses your mind is against the rules, though.
July 8, 201214 yr I don't think posting a topic for every thought that crosses your mind is against the rules, though. I can actually agree on that, some people at times can drive me up the wall for posting bogus information that has little to no reason behind it. I know that some people when new to posting topics can go overboard on posting (everyone has those moments ) and they have some reason, but seriously, some posts can be annoying!
July 8, 201214 yr They should have a max amount of topics you can post in a day. Somewhere between 0-1.
July 8, 201214 yr Author Yes. Or a probation period for new users. I should not see nine topics on the front page posted by the same user.
July 8, 201214 yr I don't think posting a topic for every thought that crosses your mind is against the rules, though. It is against ToS.It is called "spamming" the forums.
July 8, 201214 yr "Posting and You" should be required viewing for most new users... LOL (Warning: a few curse words are in this video.)
July 8, 201214 yr I don't know what's going on. A major new attraction hasn't been announced, so therefore this influx of "annoying" users is strange. Perhaps it's a rebirth of users past? Selective? Pizzababy? ect. ect. and so fourth...
July 8, 201214 yr And they all came in the past month or so. Maybe they have a leader summoning them to reek havoc upon KIC because they were banned.....
July 8, 201214 yr Further they seem to stay in one area. And generally don't drift. (They do however make their own topics often that make no sense and have no need...) Is it possible to make the sign up process a little difficult?
July 8, 201214 yr @Titan, or maybe they are all the same person, the overlord calling the "banned" to rise from the "grave"? One could only hope not!
July 8, 201214 yr Maybe we should make it like the park....Must be 54" tall to post - no recent surgery, no pregnant women, no heart conditions, guests of extreme size.....etc.
July 8, 201214 yr There already is an age limit. It is said in the ToS that you must be 13 to post. For certain people in the world, that is a good rule, but for those like ohiocolts, age doesn't appropriately show his maturity. As Terpy said, age is not a proxy for maturity. If it were, at the age of 13, everyone in the world would be respectful, schooled, and kind. I'm sure we've all met people where this isn't the case.

That and it's quite easy to click that little box that says "Yup! I'm 13" or 18 in most cases!
July 9, 201214 yr When I was under 13 (I was under 13 when I first signed up for this site) I wouldn't care if there was an age limit on the sites. I never really understood age limits. Why are they used? Specifically for email...I signed up for my first email when I was 8 but Gmail says you have to be 14 to have one. Same with YouTube and Facebook. There's no way any kids these days are going to wait to do these things until they're 13 or 14.
July 9, 201214 yr not to mention half of the 13-17 year old teen boys going to ..."those" websites.. if you know what I mean...
July 9, 201214 yr I never really understood age limits. Why are they used? The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, aka COPPA. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Online_Privacy_Protection_Act
July 9, 201214 yr Or someone spoke ill of tpr or Robb.... Who doesn't do that anymore? That club seems to think that they are better then everyone. And what themepark fan site/coaster club site has a warning on the page to warn people of the stuff that gets said? Can we report someones avatar?

There's no way any kids these days are going to wait to do these things until they're 13 or 14. There IS a way kids these days are going to wait until they are 13 or 14. We have an almost 14 year old and a 12 year old. When the oldest turned 13, he was allowed to get his own Facebook profile (the age is 13.) The 12 year old will have to wait until he is 13 to get a Facebook profile. The rule in this house is that you have to wait until you are the age that the site requires you to be to sign up for anything. They also have parental monitoring software installed on their computers and I monitor it weekly, because there was NO WAY I was going to hand 2 children their ages computers and let them have free roam on the world wide web. They know that computer and internet usage is a privilege and NOT a right. If they don't abide by our rules, they lose the computers. Anyhow, I kind of got off on a tangent there, but the point is that some kids do have to wait, and for good reason. The internet is not full of people that have good intentions and want only the best for your child.
