ki lover
The Racer Back to its 1972 state!
bkroz
Cleaning up The Racer would clean up Coney Mall. The recent year's repaints, repaves, and new rides have made it look spectacular, but as long as the centerpiece attraction that runs down the length of the midway is "themed" to a peeling, rusting 70's wooden coaster, the area will feel like a peeling, rusting 70's midway. TTD-120-420
I was wondering the same thing.
BB1
RiptideRun? I know I may not know some of the slides, but I know thats not a slide name! The Racers, SOB (0-SOB, 7 posts or more), and hopefully the Viking Ship gets some TLC sometime soon (But for the sake of all things human, dont make it into that glossy blue and glossy red, it looks different and odd...) Browntggrr
(0-SOB, 7 posts or more Didn't you just break the streak by mentioning the "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" "The-Ride-That-Must-Not-Be-Named". - Just sayin'
Thrill_Biscuit
If I had $3,454,509.88 or so laying around, I'd strip all the years of old paint from Racer, replace rusting hardware and rotting lumber, discreetly install some new engineering technologies where needed, apply a modern, protective primer throughout, and apply a sparkling coat of durable, bright-white paint to that jewel of a classic coaster.
coasterfanatic83
Wasn't Flight Deck recently painted?

SonofBaconator
Wasn't Vortex also painted in the 1990's?
Titan
Vortex was painted a few years ago. I remember the paint was so faded that the ride almost looked white.

The Interpreter
If I had $3,454,509.88 or so laying around, I'd strip all the years of old paint from Racer, replace rusting hardware and rotting lumber, discreetly install some new engineering technologies where needed, apply a modern, protective primer throughout, and apply a sparkling coat of durable, bright-white paint to that jewel of a classic coaster. IF that were enough money. It might not be.
