August 2, 201214 yr Are Haunt's required to be handicap accessible? Yes and no. Technically, almost all haunts are handicap accessible from the get-go, as safety codes state hallway widths have to be no smaller than 48". The bare minimum for wheelchair access in general is 36". But more often than not, when a scene requires able-bodied individuals to walk through, special access routes are added; e.g., the spinning tunnel in CarnEvil has an emergency exit placed right by the staircase for wheelchairs and such to bypass said tunnel (other examples are Slaughterhouse's inflatable tunnel and the former Trail of Terror's crawl-through tunnel). Ergo, haunts have a semi-strict set of guidelines when it comes to handicapped accessibility. A scant few even choose not to, rather opting for extremely tight corridors and the utilization of crawlspaces (to which the number of people in a group drops dramatically to that of a normal haunt).

August 3, 201214 yr I would not be surprised if it was multi-level. It would make sense keeping a building that big if you used the vertical space of it. I would be. That would cost a lot of money... Would you be willing to trade in your Fun Perks to help build more levels in there?
August 4, 201214 yr ^ Or will you be now? That information has yet to be released by KIPR, who monitors this site.

August 5, 201214 yr only thing i see is my post that says "edited", "got a job as a scaractor again" and "there we go, dolved that problem.
August 5, 201214 yr Ah, my apologies....I guess I just thought the slaughter house post was the same as the edited, before you edited it.
August 8, 201214 yr Welcome. I am a former employee who knows to be careful. I shouldv'e, just wasn't thinking.
August 9, 201214 yr By the way guys for TRTR/Crypt, Kali is on the wall in the main chamber, Durga was in the Antechamber/Preshow area. ;P And they couldn't use DA, why? Have you ever seen how destructive Scare actors are? I don't think they want them playing in one of their biggest investments that they are pretty much "renting". Can't wait to see what KI is brewing up! Sad part is from now on I get to see it from the outside in now! But it will be interesting to see what goes on in the fog this year! and Yes, KI has to follow strict guidelines when it comes to those who are differently abled.
August 11, 201214 yr Well I know when I worked the Haunt last year there were quite a few props and enviroment pieces broken and ruined just from us running around the maze. Not done on purpose but things do get broken.
August 13, 201214 yr I was just looking at the operating calander on visitkingsisland.com, and it seem that now Haunt on Friday nights this year is from 6pm till 1am, instead of the usual 7pm till 1am. So looks like an extra hour as been added. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/hours-directions/kings-island
August 17, 201214 yr Nice find PKI Vortex! The hours of 7pm to 1am have been around since they made Haunt free back in 2003. When Haunt was an upcharge event, the hours on Friday nights were 8pm to 1am. It makes sense, given how crowded Halloween Haunt is, and how much money it seems to bring in for the park.
August 19, 201213 yr Anyone know when the site for Halloween Haunt will go up? It usually goes up about a month before the Haunt begins. So i'd give it another week or so.
August 21, 201213 yr Expect the Halloween Haunt website to come up very shortly after Labor Day weekend.
August 21, 201213 yr I was there last week and Tower Gardens was closed and there were some Haunt props inside. Looked like the tall crates for Cornstalkers maybe?
August 21, 201213 yr I've seen employees moving boxes via mechanical dollies ( whatever they're called! I don't know! ), getting items staged by The Racer, and of course, the numerous things o mystery by The Crypt.
August 22, 201213 yr By the way guys for TRTR/Crypt, Kali is on the wall in the main chamber, Durga was in the Antechamber/Preshow area. ;P Durga is not depicted with more than one head, so she couldn't have been in Preshow. The shrine that existed was a depiction of Brahma. Kali is a possibility for the Heart of the Tomb, though Kali and Durga are both associated as forms of Shakti and one is essentially a transformation of the other. In promotions of Tomb Raider: The Ride, Durga is mentioned, not Kali. Kali is typically depicted holding a severed head and wearing a garland of human skulls, which the carving does not possess. It could be argued that when Durga is "awakened", Kali manifests herself, thus her anger is shown when the blacklights engage (also showing skulls around her). Simply put, the carving seen in the ride is a scenic designer's depiction of a form of Durga, which has been tailored to fit the story. If you looked carefully on the ride, Durga is holding a disc that contains the "all seeing eye" in a form that closely resembles the clock piece from the original film.
August 23, 201213 yr If you ride Racer and look in and around the buildings alongside, you will spot some Haunt equipment.
August 23, 201213 yr Does anyone have any ideas to wolfpack? since they are taking SOB down will it still be there or moving or just going away?? Any thoughts?
August 23, 201213 yr ^It has already been announced that Wolf Pack will remain open in its same spot for Haunt this year.
