CoasterGeek101 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Haunted houses can be quite fun. 2 Quote
malem Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Back to the topic, are any other KIC members going to the opening night? I'm sure quite a few will be going that night. Some will even be there scaring people that night. I'll probably end up coming once, either on opening night, or either September 28 or 29. If any of these days end up being a KIC Day, I'll probably try to attend that. Quote
rotag Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I find it interesting how every season they advertise zombies roaming the park, and yet to my knowledge we dont have any zombie roamers, nor zombie mazes. Correct me if Iam wrong. they "HAD" in 2007 (or was it 2008) where they had sliders dressed as zombies in twead suits. also in earlier years of urgent scare, it "HAD" an outdoor section before & after the hospital which made the maze make more since that a virus (28 days/weeks later, the crazies, the walking dead); but w/o its outdoors section, the storyline is kinda lost in that its just a hospital gone wrong. also, do i need mention of worksite??? 4 Quote
KIfan4life Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I didn't know for sure lol. Was not here from '07 to '11 cuz I was away in NM with the Air Force. 1 Quote
RadioRiders Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 anyone know if the little clip on the site is from a movie? just wondering . Quote
HTCO Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 anyone know if the little clip on the site is from a movie? just wondering . Kings Island or Cedar Fair probably made it. For some reason I really really like it. 2 Quote
TheCrypt Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I think what radioriders meant is is the clip a poke at a movie? Think of the British Invasion prelude with the "Queen of England". Quote
pkifreak23 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 They put up this post in their blog for anyone who hasnt seen it!! The blood drums sound pretty cool! Kings Island is now busy putting up decorations for its Halloween events in the fall. It won't be long before the Halloween spirit takes over the park. We're really excited about some of the new blood that will be incorporated into the sixth season of Halloween Haunt. More details to come, but this year's event will feature an all-new maze, dining experience, fear zones and new show with Blood Drums. Operating hours for Halloween Haunt have also been expanded from 6:00pm to 1:00am, except for September 22 when hours are 7:00pm to 1:00am. Popular mazes like Club Blood, Wolf Pack, Massacre Manor, Cut Throat Cove, Cornstalkers, Tombstone Terror-Tory, Urgent Scare, Mysteria, Slaughter House, CarnEvil and Holiday Horror all return this year, along with Hot Blooded in the Showplace Theater. Graveyard Shift in the Festhaus will also be part of this year's Halloween Haunt experience. Halloween Haunt is included free with park admission to Kings Island. Killer deals are available online on our website for just $25.99 on Friday nights and $31.99 for all day admission Saturdays (11:00am - 1:00am), except for September 22. Two family-friendly Halloween events take place during the day on Saturdays and Sundays in the fall, including the return of Trick-or-Treat with the Dinosaurs and an all-new family-friendly event in Soak City. We'll have more details about this event to share with you next week. All your favorite rides and attractions are open during the day in the fall like The Beast and Diamondback roller coasters, the Grand Carousel, Monster, Scrambler, Dodgem and the rides in the award-winning Planet Snoopy kids' area. Major rides and attractions are open during Halloween Haunt. Quote

jasonondropzone Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I don't like haunted houses, even though I know everything in there is a prop, I just can't do it. Last year, I went a semi-local "haunted barn" in Winfield, WV, and then also went a "haunted corn maze" in Milton, WV. The barn was not what everyone made it out to be but I was scared, so that's it! The corn maze is what really got me, we waited about two hours to get in, and once we got up there, I ran to the edge of the corn and hurled, then went on through, it was all fine and dandy until we were taken out of the corn and we had to wait because someone had a panic attack and had to be found and escorted out. The end of the corn maze and the barn were the worst, at the barn, while we were in line, we were at the exit and these guys with devil masks and other crazy masks come out, and chase them to the road with chainsaws and they saw me hiding, and they came at me and I took off running, lost my shoes, my group and lost my dignity. The corn maze had clowns at the end with stringless weedeaters, chainsaws and I think I also heard a leaf blower, I had a dandy time at the end of that one as I walked through without a fear, but had a nice time laughing at my friend who took off running after I told her to not act scared. Sorry for the long post, and random full stops. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 It's okay. Not everyone has to like everything. 2 Quote
beastrider97 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I'm excited to hear more about the event taking place in Soak City. I wonder if it will be the event held in the picnic plaza moved to Soak City, or make use of things only available in the waterpark. Quote
BB1 Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 I'm excited to hear more about the event taking place in Soak City. I wonder if it will be the event held in the picnic plaza moved to Soak City, or make use of things only available in the waterpark. It has been there for a year or so now, it was fun to see the BB in its "sleep" (BB1 who still believes there is some hope for some sort of BB ressurection!) and for no one to be walking about in my favorite place. Also it was a hayride like ride that went out into the waterpark. Quote
beastrider97 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 ^Really? If that's true it was very poorly advertised as I had never heard about it. EDIT: Nevermind, I remember it now. Quote
pkifreak23 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 @pkifreak where is there blog? Its on their actual website under online fun if someone hasnt told you already Quote
beastrider97 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 ^ I never knew of this. Neither did I. I did some searching and came across some mention of it. Apparently it didn't go through BB, just a quick pass through. Quote
Tanna Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but for me, it was odd. It only happened in Urgent Scare, my scream turned from a "oh, you got me" scream to this.. Angry Rebel Yell like 'get away from me". I always think that most good haunted houses pretty much offer the same kind of scares, but this wasn't scared. It was more like threatened. Quote
pkifreak23 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Has anyone else noticed that Kings Island has been really quiet about Halloween Haunt this year? I Feel like they would of said more by now in years past. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 And have people show up at the closed park expecting Haunt? Quote
RingMaster Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Has anyone else noticed that Kings Island has been really quiet about Halloween Haunt this year? I Feel like they would of said more by now in years past. With the one blog post from earlier, we pretty much know everything save for the name of the single new haunt and the location of Blood Drums. All of the prior mazes are returning despite my increasing frustration that some have yet to be retired after 10+ years and others have major problems that most likely will never be fixed. Quote
KI-ORIG-EMP Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 The park's Haunt web site is now online: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/haunt2012 Quote
HTCO Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Hmm... The new haunt looks... interesting. Quote
jdawg1998 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Awesome website - the best I've seen it. Ew, Mysteria is back. That sucks. Maybe they upgraded it. I think the new maze in The Crypt looks interesting; I hate wax figures so it wil definitely scare me! Also, am I the only one that thinks Blood Drums looks really awesome? (based on the description). 3 Quote
TheCrypt Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I wish they would retire Club Blood and Urgent Scare (just to put it out of its misery). Jdawg, the map shows that Blood Drums will apparently be underneath and/or around the Action Zone water tower. Me being a drummer myself, I am anxiously looking forward to this show! Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Yes! Now it can be said... Sam the Butcher will be making his glorious return to Slaughter House this year!!! 11 Quote
