Titan
I'm going to spruce this trip report up so it won't be as boring for you guys to read. Arrival Time: 1:00 p.m Departure Time: 12:00 a.m Estimated Number of Rides: 13-14 Number of Shows: 1 The Rides: Delirium - This was the first ride that me and my friend had rode yesterday. We came to Delirium right after we arrived and waited about 45 minutes to an hour. The operations were pretty sluggish, but the park was very crowded and there were tons of people queued up for the ride. The ride was fun, but the cycle has been shortened and the ride seems to run faster. Some Things I Noticed: The ride cycle has been shortened, but I have no complaints about that because it was still fun. The operations were slower than usual, but the park was extremely crowded. The Racer - We ended up riding this the most yesterday. The line wasn't longer than 30 minutes and they had most of the switchbacks open. The Blue Racer was pretty rough and even when the Blue Racer had a head start, the Red Racer still managed to win. The Red Racer was smoother and seemed to run a little faster than usual. The operations were normal. Some Things I Noticed: The Blue Racer was very rough and both sides could use some TLC. I really like the decals on the front of the trains. Red Racer still won even when Blue had a head start. Flight Deck - Flight Deck was running good today. The operations were very good and the line was about 15-20 minutes. However later on in the day the line I estimated the wait was around 30-40 minutes. I snapped quite a few pictures of Sonny, because this is the last time I'd see him intact. Some Things I Noticed: Flight Deck was no different than what it usually is. Vortex - The line was long for most of the day. So we waited until 10:45 to ride and we were able to ride it 4 times. The wait was about 10 minutes, but was longer during the day. The ride was no different than it usually was. I rode in 5-2 and it was a lot smoother, but less fun if you ask me. Some Things I Noticed: The ride operator checking our restraints was flying through. He had the whole right side checked in less than 30 seconds. Operations were normal. Woodstock - I can barely fit in the trains now. Me and my buddy were crammed into one seat because some girl behind me didn't get on. But by time I noticed the restraints were already locked. The ride is still fun, but getting too small for me. Some Things I Noticed: The line was about 5-10 minutes and the operations were normal. Overall Review: The park was very crowded today. We were expecting the park to die down around 8-9, but it didn't die down until after the fireworks. But even then Beast and Diamondback still had pretty long lines. For my last trip of the Summer it was a pretty big let down. We didn't ride as much as we wanted to, but I had expected that would happen. The next time I'll be at the park is for Halloween Haunt. There was a lot of people walking around the park smoking. I didn't see security approach anyone of them once. I can't be around secondhand smoke because of my asthma. So I had to rush to get away from the smoke, which was getting annoying. We saw Ed Alonzo's Psycho Circus and it was very funny. It was a nice break from the heat and had a lot of cool tricks. The fireworks were okay, but that's not what I'm worried most about. Son of Beast: I snapped quite a few pictures of the ride, but I haven't uploaded them yet. So I'll try to get them off my phone and upload them asap. There were a lot of people talking about it and for once I might actually miss the ride, jk. Random Rambling: I think this may be the final year I get a gold pass. I've pretty much burned myself out of Kings Island. I used to have so much going to the park, but now I end up getting bored half way through the day. Now that I've rode everything and know the park front to back, it makes my time in the park less interesting. I think that 1 or 2 trips to the park and Soak City a year is good enough for me. Unless the park gets a new coaster or area . This concludes my trip report and random rambling. I'll try to get the pictures uploaded, but the files are really big and take a long time to upload. Thanks for reading.
The Interpreter
Thanks for posting! If you are like me, your love for the park will go in circles. There can, indeed, be too much of a good thing.
TheCrypt
Great TR, Titan! Glad you had a great day! Are you sure Delirium's cycle has been shortened? I'm sure we would have heard about it by now. Maybe it's just temporary? The ride has only had 2 swings where it gets up to full height, then it ends (versus maXair's...7?). It could have felt shorter when in fact it might be the same. I'll check it out on KIC Day. I too hate second-hand smoke. Sorry it put a damper on your day.
Titan
It had been a while since I rode Delirium, so it might have just seemed shorter to me. The secondhand smoke wasn't too bad until the Fireworks came around. Most of Coney Mall smelt like smoke. I wish they would have just made one of the middle sections a designated smoking section instead of all of them. And I'm the same way Terpy. I never thought that I'd have boring days at Kings Island, but I thought wrong.
The Interpreter
I adored Six Flags Over Georgia. Then, I moved to Atlanta. In more than a year, I've been there four times. Total. I've never lived very near to Cincinnati, nor to Louisville while Kentucky Kingdom was open. I suspect that's a good thing.
jdawg1998
Great trip report, Titan. To me Delirium's operation has always been slow. It takes at least 5 minutes to get everyone in and secured. It's a pain in the butt to sit there waiting! It's also nice to see Flight Deck had a semi-long wait, at least considering how the wait usually is. Tanna
I'll keep the smoke problem in mind when I'm at Coney Mall. I didn't realize that all the middle islands were smoking sections. As a smoker, I can assure you only one smoking section is needed for the Coney Mall area. Can they make a smoking section not in the middle of the mall, where people have to pass by, but tuck it away like they do the one under the Diamondback hill? And while I'm on a roll, the area in Planet Snoopy is too close to the bathroom, where there's a constant flow of little kids. I'd like it moved to where little kids don't have to be. The smoking sections are a great courtesy, but I'd rather them not be intrusive to other guests. It defeats the purpose of having specific places for us.

CedarPointer
They're not all smoking areas, just the one between Scrambler and Skyline and the one with the circular planter near Coney Refreshments, unless something's changed since last season. TheCrypt
^There really aren't many other non-smoking islands in CM. Also, Titan, did you enjoy the no smoking spiel on Delirium again? "Ladies and gentlemen. May I have your attention please? For the safety and comfort of our guests, please remember that smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep Kings Island a smoke-free environment."
Titan
I tried to drone it out with my iPod, but it didn't work. And I'm uploading the pictures right now. So they should be up in a little bit.
standbyme
I never thought that I'd have boring days at Kings Island, but I thought wrong. Because I live so far away I have never burned myself out on the park...but I can see that you could, my family took this year off from Disney because it was losing it's "magic" a little. Thanks for the report!
