Captain Picard
That sounds like some of the additions that just got installed.
TTD-120-420
From the twitter account of Rebecca Baker, Cedar Point's marketing coordinator. "Industry is buzzing with @SixFlags announcements. I'm a little bias, but I think the #Gatekeeper launch across platforms was better executed" Better executed? Was she not informed Gatekeeper was leaked the day before? I don't understand how some one could think Gatekeepers announcement was better than what Six Flags did. For God's sake, one of the higher ups called Gatekeeper WindSeeker during the announcement. Someone's pride a little wounded? A. Silence would have been a better FUN response. B. I thought SIX and FUN didn't compete for the same customers and spheres of influence. Well? Is this directed at me, or are you talking about Becca's comments?
The Interpreter
It most certainly is not directed at you. You made me aware of the FUN employee's classless, perhaps envious, response to the SIX announcement day. I have since found out that at least some at SIX found that response somewhat amusing yet somewhat sad. It was the type of thing you gossip to colleagues about in a dram shop, not tweet to the world. Or at least it once was. Not to mention, this is a VERY small world. You never know what will be remembered when. If ever the day comes that a job is being sought in Grand Prairie by a certain now FUN employee, I'd not be surprised if one of the questions would be about comparing Six's 2012 announcement with Gatekeeper's.
The Interpreter
VERY interesting article about the Safari change at Great Adventure and SIX philosophy in general: http://www.app.com/article/20120902/NJBIZ/309020020/Six-Flags-Great-Adventure-made-safari-change-to-attract-more-customers
IBEW_Sparky
As I was reading the article, I saw that at least one person had the same concerns I did when I started reading the article. There are at least some, as was made clear within, that would prefer NOT to spend the additional money to gain admission to the theme park. While this may possibly bring new customers into the park, I turly dont think it will make up for the potential customers lost by eliminating the option of allowing them to drive through the wildlife area as they have been for 38 years. Also, how many will pass simply due to having to leave the comfort of their own vehicle's climate control system? I am absolutely positive that the thought of sitting in an un-air conditioned 4x4 in the summer heat will distract more than a few from partaking.
IndyGuy4KI
Good point Sparky. It will be interesting to see how this works out for them!
IBEW_Sparky
My main problem with it (other than riding in that vehicle in summer heat and bouncing around and into other patrons I dont know and wish not to have body contact with) is that it reminds me of a certain person's "People gotta eat" philospophy. TheCrypt
Yet they don't appear to have a problem with Disney doing, in essence, the exact same. Disney does seem to give their animals sufficient space, but PETA doesn't crack down on places like the Boonshoft or the Cincinnati Zoo for sufficient space. I'm not sure what to make of this article. On one hand, they have a point. On the other, they're nitpicking.
The Interpreter
But PETA has gone after both Disney and the Cinci Zoo, claiming the animals are slaves exploited for money, among other things.
TheCrypt
Whoops. OK. Claim void. Carry on.

The Interpreter
Six Flags forgot to mention one detail in their video. Upping the charge for parking...again! Speaking of which, Cedar Point just raised daily parking prices by approximately 25 percent.
