  • Well its been a fun one.. So long Starting to Decode 2014!

  • You know, I chuckle at this thread. The more I read it... which is pretty much daily now... the more I become amused. Why? It's a near carbon copy of about a dozen other threads related to KI throu

For those waiting for when we'll announce what we're building for the future, you might want to grab yourself a Snickers bar. It's going to be awhile. We still have the majority of the 2013 season

Why has a B&M Flyer been dismissed so quick. From above they look the same. (Inverted)

Whoever claimed we weren't posting enough tonight... *coughjcgoble3cough* ...sure is getting his fill now. I can't keep up with you guys.

Y'all are wizards at decoding this blueprint. I still can't fully make it out. I kind of get it til the z shapes, then I'm thrown big time!!!!

If you were to draw an overhead layout of a coaster, what would the loop look like? Here's a picture of the loops on Vortex. Notice the "Z" shape.

Who says we're not getting something that hasn't been done before? Like a new type of inversion trickity trick. I mean, I know King's island wouldn't really like to go with something not a safe bet but you go to take a risk somtimes. ( Okay you don't but I'm just putting it out there they might throw a curve-ball at us. Witch I really hope they do.

Okay, Glenda.

"It's Galinda, with a Ga."

Actually, we're both wrong. It's Glinda, spelled with an "i", but no "Ga".

From Wiki's page on 'Wicked' :

"In an attempt to impress Fiyero, Galinda announces that she will change her name to "Glinda" in honor of Doctor Dillamond's persistent mispronunciation. Fiyero fails to notice and leaves."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_%28musical%29

ACT 1, paragraph 6

I'm talking about Glinda the Good Witch from "The Wizard of Oz". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wizard_of_Oz_(1939_film)

Anything else?

Technically, Wizard of Oz happened after events of Wicked.

I was making a joke with my statement by quoting the show:

"It's Galinda, with a Ga."

And in sadder news KI is no longer trending on Yahoo.

I'm glad it's not trending anymore. When this went national on all the search engines, a bunch of new guests, and members started opening books on rumors, and coaster types that have been debunked months ago.

Because if you look approximately 400 yards to the southeast, you'll see that we already have a flyer...

And we do not have a full-circuit Invert, at least not a major one outside of Planet Snoopy with high speeds and inversions.

I honestly dont think it will be called Banshee. I think the park wants us to think that.

I'm curious why you think that, given all signs point to Banshee and CF got trademark licensing for it. Unless Banshee will be a new ride in the future at another park? Though that still doesn't explain all the theming that points towards the name Banshee

I think it will be called, "Night Hawk"

Why do you think that? I don't think so, too close to the name Firehawk. I've overheard quite a few dumb park guest conversations to know the two would be quickly and easily confused by not so smart people :P

YAY! I'm finally at 500 posts. Where are the fireworks?

What - no fireworks?

Okay, bring on the whi....te milk. Yeah, that's it.

Don't worry, I had your back. I watched plenty of fireworks for you at the Reds game. Three homers. 8-3 win. Go Redlegs!

Also, how are some people seriously still questioning the name? Not only is it trademarked, but all the theming clues match up to it. I really don't think the park would fake this one. And, please, no one mention Mustang. Banshee has a significant amount of more evidence than Mustang did.

On the verge of finding coaster height, anyone know what the elevation of the park is, or even better, right where thunder alley use to be?

?Anyone?

752 feet according to this site. http://www.daftlogic.com/sandbox-google-maps-find-altitude.htm

Thanks! Darn, I thought I was onto something when I saw "Ride Manufactures elevation 755ft MSL" on the blueprints. Thanks for looking.

You probably were onto something...whatever it is you're talking about. The elevation posted on the blueprints is correct...755ft. It varies at different points at that particular location. The inside of the oval where Thunder Alley stood was 752', but the outside edge of the oval was 757'.

I think it will be called, "Night Hawk"

There's a Vekoma flying dutchman coaster in Carrowinds called that.

Don't know if this was already posted or not.. :/

I'm glad I'm not the only one going "why on earth are people still questioning the name??" Other than the fact it hasn't been announced yet, it makes no sense that KI would go to such extremes with the Banshee mythological theming if the name was something completely different!

Trademarks are cheap

And?

"Banshee" is sexist.

Wow..... hahaha

@Kat I have heard park guests refer to Firehawk as "Firebird". So I guess I can see where your coming from.

"Banshee" is sexist.

Well what if it was a Banhee??? Lol

I take offense to riding a ride that is named after a woman killing a man....

Where did you get that from?

On a different sort of note, just for fun, I drew a path following Vortex's track with the Google Earth ruler. it came out to 3264.21 feet (assumming a flat path with no elevation changes). Vortex's actual length is 3,800 feet. So the difference is roughly 15-16%. We could use similar numbers and the scale of the blueprint, and we could probably calculate a rough range for the coaster's length. Anyone with the proper know-how want to take a stab at it?

It could all just be a big diversion to try to create buzz for the new coaster that is going to be called Phoenix ;)

I heard someone call Firehawk that once and when corrected by their friend they said same thing, fiery bird ride.... Lol

Please, I don't have to deal with math for one more month!
