Webcams

Featured Replies

Hello people of the interwebs,

I just checked out the KI website and discovered that the webcams are currently back up. All of them except the WindSeeker cam that is. And there also is no new webcams for the mystery construction. This doesn't really surprise me as they probably won't place a new webcam until they announce what they are building. But what I'm curious about is why the WindSeeker cam is down. Is the construction area viewable from that camera? Will construction stretch into the view of that camera eventually, and that's why they haven't put the camera back up yet? I don't know. What do you think?

The Anticipation of this new "thing" is killing me,

DBI

I assume that the WindSeeker cam is in part maintenanced by the news station that carries the feed. Why it's not up, who knows? The area under "construction" is not viewable from that angle.

The Diamondback cam needs a good cleaning

As long as being out down a few notches so the queue is visible.

Hey I'm finally able to view them on my iPad with safari! I could always see the cams at the other parks but not KI.

Ahh! I thought I was having issues with Safari, good to know i'm not crazy.

The WindSeeker Cam is back up but is now called The Racer Cam.

^Which I like as well, you get to see more of the park this way!

The camera is in the same spot as before. You can see the same amount of the park with this view as you could before.

I think he means that the camera has been angled down and to the left, so you get more park and less woods/sky in the picture. Previously, as the WindSeeker cam, it showed the entire WS tower. That is no longer the case.

EDIT: Also, the Front Gate cam is crooked. :P

Web cams seem to be stuck on 6-25-2013, either that, or that group in the orange shirts are taking an awful long time to get their picture right ;-)

Uhhh! The Diamondback cam is useless now...

Last year, it was directed more towards the que line so that you could always tell if it was crowded or not that day.

But now, since you can't see the que line you have no idea.

When trains are backed up. (one in the station, one on the main brakes, and one on the transfer track, I believe.)

The Front Gate cam is tilted a small amount clockwise, and all the pink Snoopy toys are in the bottom right corner of the fountains, giving me the illusion the whole park is at an angle.

Update as of August 2, The Racer Cam is pointed at Slingshot and 2014.

Racer cam isn't showing as much construction as it was earlier, but I'm enjoying watching people take pictures.

Webcams seem to be down as of 2:00pm today!

They seem to be back up now!

so, as part of creating the time lapse videos every week, I created some custom text alerts to let me know when the webcams weren't updaing. I have noticed for the last 4 days, the webcams have stopped updated at the exact same time and then came back at the same time ~3 hours later. I sure hope this isn't a continuing trend.

so, right on queue, looks like the webcams stopped updating at 2pm. Look for them to start updating again at 5pm.

Day 7
