steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Well the day started off GREAT! They got 2 supports and 2 pieces of track up and then.....they sit. so not much has happened at all in the last 2+ hours. :(
upstop Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Does it look like Octberfest pond is about a foot or two shallower today? There seems to be a rough, dark gray area aound its edges. 1
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I just think that's where the snow came down but I could be wrong 1
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 YEA!!! Support #3 going up...im sure that means that track #3 for the day will shortly follow. 3
KHFan29 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 And it looks like they're about to lift the next track piece. 2
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I know this is wishful thinking. But I wonder if MAYBE they might go for support #4 today. I doubt it, but I can always hope. 2
myklhicks Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Looks like they're about to lift track # 3. 2
Oldiesmann Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The one shown in that picture is in the process of being connected now, so it's definitely possible that they could get another one up today. 2
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I wish we had a way to tell those guys how much we appreciate the work they do!! 4
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 And here comes the supports!! I think I'm obsessed!! 2
Kat Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Steve got his wish!! 1 support and 1 track piece in 2 hours, I'd say that's decent progress I wish we could tell them we appreciate all their hard work, as well!!! It's COLD out there!!! 3
myklhicks Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 THEYRE MOVING IN THE NEXT SUPPORT! EDIT: sikkinixx beat me to it. didn't refresh.haha 4
flightoffear1996 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Even towards the end the ride it still looks massive! 3
sikkinixx99 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Did you see him wipe out and drop that last support coming down the hill?
LoraX Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I am happy to be busy at work. I am so bummed I can't watch the progress at work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
Coasterama Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I didn't expect the spiral to come this far off the ground. 7
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Well, my guess for tomorrow is 3/4. 3 supports and 4 pieces of track. 2
Coasterama Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 And if we're lucky, Banshee (the track work anyway) might just get done by the end of the weekend.
davidw Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Three supports and three pieces of track installed today. Link to gallery 11
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 my guess on the completion of the track and supports will be the end of next week 3
Oldiesmann Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I would expect end of the month at least. Still lots of supports and track to install, but they're making good progress. The weather has cooperated pretty well too - one major snowstorm back in early December and the ridiculous cold snap last week have been the only notable weather issues this season so far. 5
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I was just looking at the rest of the supports that are left. Is the 4th support from where they left off today, just a single tube sticking straight up? Seems kind of "wobbly" compared to the other supports, its the 3 supports before the "carousel" starts. 3
TheBEASTunchained Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 A new view...... (Courtesy of Kings Island) (This is a still shot from the video posted this morning by Kings Island about the last track pieces arriving) 16
myklhicks Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I fixed up that photo some, because I couldn't see it really well. Here it is: 19
steveinphoenix Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 AWESOME! thanks Myklhicks! I was wanting to see it from that perspective. 4
Gplez90 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Man! Thats a great photo!! I (and i sure everyone else) REALLY appreciate you sharing it with us! EDIT: I counted 21 track pieces remaining! 9
thedevariouseffect Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 In that picture you really see how much the terrain changes. Just to think some was slightly tamed for construction. 5
