steveinphoenix Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It will be interesting to see the "carousel" portion of this ride go in. 1/2 of all the supports for it go into a single footer. 6
jandyb79 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It's hard to believe how close they are to completing track installation. I'm actually kind of dreading it because it's going to drive me nuts seeing a full circuit coaster there on the web cam and not being able to ride it. I second that notion, but I get just as much enjoyment out of watching the station, landscaping and new theme take effect. Watching Rivertown get a long overdue makeover was my favorite part of the Diamondback construction process. I do miss the trees, however :/ It really will be a treat to watch the transformation of this newly themed area, as it happens very rarely. 7
Tanna Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It's hard to believe how close they are to completing track installation. I'm actually kind of dreading it because it's going to drive me nuts seeing a full circuit coaster there on the web cam and not being able to ride it. In all honesty, I'm truly frightened of big things. They don't have to be living, just big. I'm scared to death of decommissioned B-52s. I have yet to walk through the Dinos Alive due to that really big dino at the end. This probably explains why I want to see a killer whale. I edit all my giant monster movies so there's no humans in it, just Giant Monsters. Believe me, the new "War of the Worlds" is better my way. I've been watching the construction of this, and am now realizing the size of it, the size of the loops. and I'm going to get vertigo just looking at it. When this goes full circuit, I'm sure I'm going to stare at the camera for ten minutes, reconcile myself to the fear , then I'll want to jump in line and get this over with. I'll probably love it once I get over the "big" fear factor, but it's intimidating for me to see how small the workers are compared to the size of those loops. 5
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Maybe it's because the half pint brawlers are building this. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I547 using Tapatalk 8
RailRider Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Is it just me or does the batwing look monsterous sitting down in the valley? The change of elevation on this ride has made for some huge elements. 12
Gplez90 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 That thing looks freaking huge!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 10

Kat Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 All I know is Raptor was AWESOME, and this is going to be bigger, longer, faster, and better than Raptor, and that thrills me 8
steveinphoenix Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It isn't a helix, its called a "carousel". 2
calakapepe Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I cannot wait for the in-line twist! Okay, I lied; I can. 6
steveinphoenix Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I hope we see that big blue support laying next to the final break run go up today. 3
Gplez90 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I think those are the supports for each side of the second vertical loop^^ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4
Screaming_Chicken Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I will be honest with all of you I really enjoyed Son of Beast. I remember back in 2000 when it opened it was so much fun to ride front seat at night. 5
Tuskin Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Son of Beast talk has made its way back into this topic .... again. 7
Screaming_Chicken Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Son of Beast talk has made its way back into this topic .... again. Yeah, Son of Beast talk has returned because like it or not it was a ride at Kings Island just like King Cobra, Bavarian Beetle among other rides that are no longer at the park. They are part of the parks history. I understand that this is a topic about Banshee..just saying. 5
thedevariouseffect Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I will say the terrain and area available made for a great invert. Also B&M's current technology used should be quite a thrill for all of you 12
malem Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 ^ And you, too, whenever you get back to Ohio. 10
thedevariouseffect Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It won't have that new coaster smell though =/ 12
Gplez90 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Looks like they've punched the clock for the week. Great job Banshee crew! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 9

Joshua Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Man, I can't wait to ride that! A definite shout out to those who have to build this monster in all that snow, slush, and mud. 10

TheBEASTunchained Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I'm really liking the new webcam angle, it shows everything in a completely different perspective. We get to see the work being done in a more "up-close and personal" view. ---A special thanks to Don and the Kings Island staff, for doing all the somewhat unnecessary things to keep some of us enthusiasts informed, and to keep the public informed and updated about the park/Banshee in the off-season. It is appreciated! 16
steveinphoenix Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 where is the link for the new webcam angle? 3
