thoe124 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I was wondering which ride will be the most likely to be dismantled next. And also what the reason for it will be. Quote
upstop Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 The next ride on the list will most likely be dismantaled, because of it's expiration date....LOL I'm guessing something engineered by Arrowdnamics.... 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 There are several threads discussing this. 7 Quote
myklhicks Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Hopefully The Racer or The Vortex. Racer will never happen... At least not in our life time. And The Vortex isn't likely either, it still gets a ton of riders. 1 Quote
medford Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 the next ride to be dismantled is more than likely a ride few talk about, something in Planet Snoopy perhaps to make room for new additions over ther would be my guess (may I recoment taking out snoopy junction and putting in a nice small family coaster?). As far as "major" or perhaps former major attractions the options at this point are probably... Vortex b/c of age (and though it beats the snot out of me, I hope it stays a long while) Flight Deck b/c of age, lack of similar rides left in use, perhaps making replacement parts harder/more expensive to maintain Congo Falls b/c of lack of interest, seems like the lines are often short. Two of those are in Action Zone, if one were to be dismantled, it probably has something to do w/ further improvements to that side of the park. Banshee is going to breathe new life into that area, especially flight deck. Quote
elyk Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Id like to see an Rmc creation coaster where Vortex is located. Steepest drop, tallest fastest most loops, and we could regain the record for most wooden track at a park. Quote
malem Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 ^ I'd like to see Vortex where Vortex is located. 10 Quote
YoungStud Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 No one knows how well rmc's will age. 3 Quote
BeastForever Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Id like to see an Rmc creation coaster where Vortex is located. Steepest drop, tallest fastest most loops, and we could regain the record for most wooden track at a park. I may be wrong but I thought we still did have that record. What park now has the most? Quote
westcoaster Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I would say Vortex as a guess, hate to see it but for sure Banshee is a reason for a major investment , and smart if Vortex goes. Also love the thought of family coaster etc. in Planet Snoopy: Quote
kblanken Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 ...and we could regain the record for most wooden track at a park.I may be wrong but I thought we still did have that record. What park now has the most? Six Flags Great America will exceed the distance Kings Island has if Goliath is longer than 2,081 feet. 1 Quote
kblanken Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Id like to see an Rmc creation coaster where Vortex is located. As of next year - Six Flags Mexico, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Texas, Silver Dollar City, and Six Flags Great America will have a RMC coaster. If Darien Lake, Six Flags America, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Dollywood, Kings Island, Kennywood, and Camden Park all somehow ended up with one, the line connecting them on a map would look really similar to a Golden Spiral. McSalsa Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 ^I seriously doubt it...Mine Train coasters from the 1960's are still running strong at other parks, and AE opened in...1991. It gets nearly 1 million riders every year, and is very popular among park guests as a ride that fits well in between the kids coasters and the larger scream machines like Beast, Diamondback, or Vortex. The fact the line is usually 15 minutes or less isn't because it's unpopular, it's because it's a line muncher with awesome capacity...something Kings Island values greatly. AE very likely isn't going anywhere anytime soon. 9 Quote
Timbo1 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Why is it that KI does not have a top fuel dragster type coaster? I am sure it is expensive but pretty straight forward up and back could go many places. 1 Quote
MadMaverick Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Why is it that KI does not have a top fuel dragster type coaster? I am sure it is expensive but pretty straight forward up and back could go many places.I would love for KI to get a strata coaster. Although for as short as the ride is, TTD cost more to build 10 years ago than Banshee is going to cost KI to build. Quote
YoungStud Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Steel has went up, but the engineering is there now for the hydraulic launch(see formula rossa). Quote
Dieseltech20 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Most likely because KI cares more about reliability than oh my god this ride is so intense I pee'd my pants. 1 Quote
YoungStud Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 ^ I guess WindSeeker is very reliable. Quote
westcoaster Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 hopefully the crypt building will become a dark ride! 1 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I don't think anything will be coming down over the next few years. Rides are still getting good ridership and honestly next season I expect KI to get some good attendance with Banshee in the park. If anything comes down or gets relocated I can only see the Crypt building getting remodeled or torn down Quote
jdf21972 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Canada wonderland just got a new dark ride maybe if positive results KI could turn the crypt into a dark ride also Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
