Ride On_17
So in addition to Dollywood's Firechase Express, resort, and general $300 million decade long improvement announcement, Heide Park officially announced their new wing coaster. I haven't found a name released, but I have seen a rendering of the layout. It looks to be a fairly short ride but it looks pretty fun. It includes an airtime hill following the wing over drop, a near miss element under the shop, an immelman, and what Lance on Screamscape calls an "Inclined Norwegian-Pretzel Loop." I'm glad to see a B&M getting a new type of inversions and it looks cool. http://www.radiohamburg.de/Nachrichten/Deutschland-und-die-Welt/Norddeutschland-kompakt/2013/August/Neue-Achterbahn-Hier-entsteht-ein-Wing-Coaster/achterbahn01a The site is in German so I'd recommend using Google Translate (unless you can speak German).
calakapepe
Inclined Norwegian loop? Sweet! And it twists away from the incline so, more forces! This looks awesome.I agree, it's good to see B&M getting new elements in there/ or at least skewing how the elements are bundled together, rather than placing a series of premade elements one after the other. (not literally)
Ride On_17
That airtime hill also looks to provide some strong airtime since it doesn't seem to be very tall. I imagine you'll get some decently strong upward forces since you'll be flying over the hill at close to the high speed.
TheCrypt
That ride looks very fun, especially the inclined whatever you call it. Good to see B&M branching out with their additions.
coasterfanatic83
15 million euros is about 20 million USD, just in case anyone was wondering (via http://coinmill.com online currency conversion calculator).
Ride On_17
And here are the other stats "Americanized", assuming the article is correct: -length = over 2532.8 feet (a short ride, IMO) -height = 131 feet (roughly) -speed =62 mph (roughly) So this coaster is definitely not very big, but it looks like it will pack a punch and its compact layout looks exciting. YoungStud
compact b&m's are more forcefull due to not drawing out the elements. Look at Talon, BTR, Nemesis.
