The Interpreter
Not that much. Information like that STILL does not work on smartphones. 2013. Dumb, Cedar Fair. Super dumb.

malem
^ With iOS, you can use another (Safari-based) browser from the App Store to view the site in desktop mode. But, you're right, treating mobile websites as second-class citizens is completely unacceptable in 2013.Here are the numbers from the blog post: maXair: 723,561Sky Ride: 1,420,391Wicked Twister: 791,941Iron Dragon: 1,231,881Matterhorn: 462,348Top Thrill Dragster: 1,171,135Power Tower: 906,380CP & LE Railroad: 1,746,179Gemini: 1,322,320Maverick: 1,077,276Thunder Canyon: 364,722Gatekeeper; 2,165,965Ocean Motion: 409,814Raptor: 1,511,099Millennium Force: 1,680,269 Kings Island's 2013 rider counts have yet to be released, but here's last year's for comparison. CP's numbers are probably much more accurate than KI's, considering that CP uses turnstiles at nearly every ride. (Though some people do spin those for fun.)

malem
^ Oops. I checked visitkingsisland.com before posting that, but I neglected to search elsewhere. The only tally I had seen was Diamondback's record-breaking number.

Here are the numbers from the blog post: I disagree, mobile phones are capable of desktop sites. I say get rid of mobile sites, they are limited. I never turn my desktop on, I doubt it would if I did. maXair: 723,561 Terpy, that why. iPhones are for teens. Hank
The way some people on this site bash Vortex and Flight Deck, you'd think nobody ever rode them - whether they were sinking or not!
malem
^^ A website that is efficient for desktop users is often inconvenient for mobile users, and vice versa. Desktop sites are usually too wide for mobile devices and have targets (links, buttons, etc) that are too small. Mobile sites present a smaller amount of information at once, and they are specifically designed to respond to mobile gestures. In 2013, a website should be designed to function properly on both desktops and mobile devices, presenting appropriate style and behavior for each case. Cedar Fair's websites redirect to an entirely separate mobile site created by ticketing vendor Accesso. A major problem with the implementation of this approach is that the mobile site lacks much of the content and functionality of the main desktop site. Don told us at the September KIC event that the (Accesso) mobile site is a top priority going forward, and it has improved a lot (in 2013) from where it was in 2012 when it launched. I would expect things to be even better next season, even if they don't get to full parity.
RollerNut
Two words, fire accesso. The mobile sites are junk, and I cant renew my season passes without using a desktop(which is also an accesso product).
The Interpreter
And the Accesso website would NOT let me renew my season pass, from any device. I had to do so at the park, in person. Six Flags makes it very east to give them money. Cedar Fair, in my experience, does not.
malem
^^ Cedar Fair signed a very lucrative, multi-year contract after their financial success with Accesso in 2012. The previous in-house system was remarkably bad, and Accesso improved online sales figures significantly. Accesso's backend system is actually rather solid, and it integrates well with many different ticketing systems. The problems most experience are with the Flash-based front-end. Most notably, the choice of flash completely excludes mobile devices from accessing the fully functional ticket store. Accesso's mobile site leaves a lot to be desired, but it has improved significantly since they launched it. The core problem is that it's a secondary website that receives less attention than the main desktop website.
The Interpreter
...which, in today's environment, is misguided at best. Nuts is more like it.

CedarPointer
Doesn't Six Flags use Accesso too? http://sixflags.com/payments http://visitkingsisland.com/payments
TheCrypt
You can still access the full version on KI's website from iPhones. Simply click the top right tab saying "full site."
The Interpreter
And still Flash is required. And yes, Six Flags uses Accesso, but their pass buying experience is far easier and has more options--you need not renew a pass at only the park where purchased, for just one example. TTD-120-420
I'm happy they have released the opening date for next year. Now I know when I can leave for BGW. May 12th.
