Hard to believe we've only got 3 months (give or take a week or two) until the park opens again for the season!

A certain park in Ohio typically announces its calendar within days of New Jersey's Finest Theme Park doing so, and typically opens 2-4 weeks after the Garden State Park does...which, given the latitudes, hurts my head.

You have to admit in the past Kings Island has opened way too early. Opening day is inherently busy, but I feel like they had a lot of draining days between Opening Day (which was typically the first weekend in April) and the last weekend in April (when they open now). Granted, weather is and will always be a gamble but they sure did have a lot of cold Saturdays in which they couldn't run steel coasters, the park would be dead, and they'd often close early. Heck, I remember them closing at 2pm one day.

But as a reminder, they technically have more operating days now than then since they go daily earlier.

In 2005 I remember the park had to close the Sunday of opening weekend due to snow. That was when they opened in late March or early April.

I ran the 5k at the park in May, and had planned to spend the day there. Thought I was going to freeze to death. Left before 11 just because I couldn't stand it anymore.
