The car in the back left of that picture is same one that's on Off-Road Rally now. Doesn't mean it's same ride, but it's possible.

  • Here is a photo of my fathers side of the family at Coney Island summer of 1955, with the Flying Eagles (or then Flying Scooters) in the background. My dad, at the tender age of 7, is on the far right

  • I say that Carowinds can get a new set of Eagles. Bring ours back home! The history with them is so rich. I loved riding them at KI. I have many great memories of them. It is a simple yet fun ride

I have ridden Flying Scooters in nearly every American park. In my opinion, Kings Island had and Carowinds has the best set in the land. The modern editions are not a comparable substitute. To be ab

I thought the same. I read that this ride lived at the new Coney Island from 06-07...... But maybe it is, I just was wondering

I was confused because I knew my daughter had rode them and really hated the drop landing more than me. I knew that the Flying Dutchman had not been at KI for years. I forgot they were moved to KK. A few years and a couple of kids things get blurry. Thanks guys!

I operated this ride and always had fun running out and stopping the scooters that were still wlldly swinging when the ride came to a complete stop. Wore out the bottoms of some shoes with my sliding stop approach ha!

Hey! Those Eagles ain't goin' nowhere!

-Mer, who hardly ever rides the thing but is very possessive about it.

^^ Tell you what....you can have the Eagles and we'll take Fury 325....Deal?

^ Or we could just take both......How about THAT for a deal?.....

TheBEASTunchained.....Ever hopeful....

^^ How cool is that? I remember that last day, and saw my signature on the card. Thanks for posting!

No.

^So you can break them?

There's a very similar ride that's been at Coney for quite a while. It was removed sometime in the past few years and the cars are (or were, as of a year and a half ago) now used as decoration around the park. One was around the side of the office building near the entrance to the restrooms.

Screamscape is anything but reliable. His "source" may very well be a random post on an internet forum like this one from somebody speculating. Hell, it very well could be a KIC post that was really nothing more than speculation. The "source" could even be this very thread.

I just said I found it. Never said it was true. (not trying to be a smart alec or anything here)

Correct. You didn't. I was just pointing that out for the benefit of anyone who may not know that. :)

and his information may just "change" if not disappear all together if different information comes along down the road.

But let's not forget also that he is not 0% on his predictions, he was pretty much spot on about the new Slaughterhouse next to The Beast before the area even broke ground.

I was there the last day 10 years ago. Even If they came back I don't know if it would be the same. It wasn't just the ride it was the people.

I was also there on the last day. I remember the cake, the t-shirts, everything. Even now, I hang my head a bit when I walk past the Eagles' former spot.

I went to Cedar Point for the first time this year. It was a cold and rainy morning in May. You know the very first ride I ran to? The Lake Erie Eagles. They weren't my flyers. They sat next to Gemini instead of Vortex. I couldn't move them as easily as I could ours. The moment I felt that satisfying snap, though, I felt like I was home.

If this rumor turns out to be true, then I welcome this new ride. The world can always use more flyers... so long as they can snap.

Screamscape is sometimes proven right. Take everything with a grain of salt, but the mere fact that it's on there gives me a bit of hope. Maybe they could go on the old Flight Commander platform.

I didnt know that my source wasnt 100% reliable, but I hope it is true.

Trust me - I hope you're right and I'm wrong.
