PhantomTheater
Starting this Friday, Midway Market will only take single day meal deals, the all season plan will not be accepted.
jcgoble3
...why? That seems needlessly complicated. Plus, from what I understand, Midway Market was the only reasonably healthy food on the dining plan. My head hurts.
thedevariouseffect
It's a disappointment that's for sure. However, there could be reasons for it. If not still get Pinks or Cheese on a Stick, or Corndogs, etc. Still amazing deals to be had!
The Interpreter
Yeah. An ever changing deal Cedar Fair changes whenever it isn't to its liking. The customer bought a deal, Cedar Fair changes it on a whim and without notice. What a deal! Amazing is one word for it.
bkroz
Isn't Midway Market the buffet? Maybe they could meter you... Season Long Dining Plan can go, but must wait quietly in the booth for 45 minutes between trips to the buffet.
thedevariouseffect
There is a notice. It is being removed starting this weekend, the sign has been up for a week or so now
The Interpreter
And a guest who lives in Akron will likely find out after they travel to the park.
thedevariouseffect
Oh agreed. Only reason I can think it was dropped for season long was ite use and not turning a profit. I mean it is a buffet. I could eat the hell out of some food in there. But I'll take employee break areas

But I'll take employee break areas BUT if you're given unlimited food all season, what's the difference if that unlimited food is presented unlimitedly in a buffet? Unless the food isn't REALLY unlimited. Which it isn't. Perhaps folks were getting the wrong idea and taking advantage of unlimited food when their unlimited pass really was supposed to be limited. Get it?
The Interpreter
And Cedar Fair can make unlimited changes. The buyer can't make ANY, and gets whatever Cedar Fair, in its sole judgment and discretion, decides to provide. Rent a car for a year. The first week you get an Escalade. After that, we can change it to anything we want...including a worn out 1972 Pinto. Who'd buy THAT?
thedevariouseffect
Well the buffet for a normal guest is usually 16 bucks or so a person..per visit Go twice in a day, it's already eliminated half the amount almost, and considering buffet it could be costly for them. Whereas cheese on a stick, I doubt that amazingness is expensive. Probably costs them a whopping buck or so to make.
Creed Bratton
Could the fact that Midway normally switches to a Pizza Buffet for the fall be a reason as well?
thedevariouseffect
I wouldn't think so..it's still available for the daily plan, just not the all season plan
PKIVortex
I think its going to the single dining plan option only and all day and season long will be discontinued.
thedevariouseffect
That wouldn't surprise me. I know I've ate way more food than that pass covered
disco2000
Wait until all the guests with the season long plan that finds out it doesn't work after labor day! Unless it changed, and it is subject to change, when purchased, they informed me it was only good until labor day.

jcgoble3
My KI dining plan flyer says nothing about that.
BoddaH1994
I'm pretty sure he's correct - it only works through Labor Day. Edit: I'm not seeing anything that says Labor Day now. I'm pretty sure that's was what was originally advertised. I wonder if it's changed?
PKIVortex
I sure hope its not good only thru Labor Day as if it is that info was never disclosed when purchased or on any advertisements.
shark6495
When I bought mine I was told it was good as long as my pass was Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PKIVortex
Yep I believe its good until 7pm on November 2nd.
disco2000
I am hoping the original intent was valid until Labor Day and they changed it. It was verbally mentioned to me, yet I haven't seen anything in writing to indicate that is indeed accurate, so here is hoping it is valid thru Nov 2nd! I still purchased it because it was an incredible deal even if it ends Labor Day.
PKIVortex
Well if it ends on Labor they will be quite a few angry Season Pass Holders case no information online states it expires on Labor Day. However they do state the regular pass is only good until Labor Day.
shark6495
And for those of us with gold or platinum... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BoddaH1994
So, I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the All Season Dining Plan was only good until Labor Day. With the fact that this reference has been removed, I take it that it is no longer true. Then I looked at Kings Island's FAQ. It didn't mention a Labor Day cutoff, but still has a lot of great information about Fun Perks! I'm not kidding.... https://www.visitkingsisland.com/faq
CedarPointer
Or, if you go to the actual FAQ linked under Plan a Visit, no FUN Perks. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/plan-a-visit/frequently-asked-questions (Odd that there's two, but the /faq one seems to be a combination of all the pages that have those annoying "click-to-open" boxes, for some reason...)
BoddaH1994
I went there from the main page. I didn't try to direct link the URL or anything...
