kingsislandfan1972 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I had never been to WinterFest before and I was just wondering what rides were operating in the park during WinterFest? Quote
Delirium2018 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I have never been either. I don't think they run the rides. I know there was skating on the fountains I think. Quote
Existential Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I remember Enchanted Voyage, Little Miami Railroad and the Carousel being open amongst a few shows. Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I can't remember off the top of my head what the last Winterfest had (besides the train), but before that it was the train and the carousel and I want to say that the Smurf ride was open as well. 1 Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Just came across an old Winterfest brochure in my basement over the weekend too, but I'm at work right now, so can't check it out. Quote
Outdoor Man Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 In the 2005 version, they had SDatHM, Carousel, and the White Christmas Express (Great Miami Valley Railroad)- the Sporta-Copters (or whatever they're called now) shows on the map, but I don't remember them operating. Go to Google and type "WinterFest 2005" in images and the top left image is the park map/brochure. Quote
upstop Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I believe that these were the only attractions open during Winterfest. Carousel/HB Character Carousel Smurfs/Phantom Theater/ SDatHM and KI&MV Railroad Quote
LoraX Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hoping we don't have Wimterfest on Media Day or opening day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 9 Quote
homestar92 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hoping we don't have Wimterfest on Media Day or opening day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I almost hope we do. I can ride Banshee any time. How often will I get a chance to take some sweet snowy photos of my favorite theme park? Well, at least Opening Day. I want Media Day to be a huge success for the park, and I think snow would hamper that. 4 Quote
LoraX Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I am most concerned about Media Day. I want KI to get the publicity it deserves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It'll be successful no matter the weather. They'll make it work. Might be a little cold or rainy for the riders, but the media will get their shots regardless... 2 Quote

Do you underestimate the power of the riders? You think a little pneumonia will stop me from riding Banshee if it's open? HAH! 7 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 ^Actually might want to retract that hehe 1 Quote
PKIVortex Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Antique cars were also open during WinterFest at least during the 1991 WinterFest, I remember the had the Smurf props scattered along the course. I want to say Dodgem was open as well. In 2005 they also had Top Cat's Taxi Jam open. 5 Quote

Oh my gosh, I had completely forgotten about this! I was there that winter and remember seeing the Smurfs all around this area. This must have been the first year Phantom Theater was there and the Smurfs had been newly removed. I miss all of this! 1 Quote
