familyman
Hopefully it will be set off the main road. To me that is just not camping. Neither is pitching a tent next to a huge RV.
Gordon Bombay
What if they had a monorail going to and from the park back to KI's hotel (if we get a hotel) like WDW does down in FLorida? I think that would be pretty cool. They could even work with the 50 foot platform on the eifel tower to turn it into a monorail station. I think that would be pretty awesome. FOF/Z 4-ever
yea it would. However, Im not sure if there is enough room on the tower for a line b/c of the vadors.
jzarley
Not to mention that monorail construction costs $10-60 million per mile, depending on the type of train/track used...
CoastersRZ
Not to mention that since the hotel is literaly right next door to the park. It is not like Disney World where there is a big lake around the Magic Kingdom and the parking complex is a couple miles from the entrance to the Kingdom. And their resorts are fairly spread out. Not to mention the cost of a monorail. Now if the light transit line is ever built as has been tossed around, there could end up being a light rail transit line from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky International Airport following I-71 all the way up to Paramount`s Kings Island. But because of funding issues the light rail line, it it ever comes to fruition, is still ten years out at the earliest.
TRTR Guy
The cincinnati light rails going to be like the old subway that was suppose to run along I-75, and Central Parkway, they got all the tunnels built but never used it.
CoastersRZ
Except the light rail is not going to be a subway system. Instead, it is going to be an above ground train, that for the most part runs on existing lines with some modifications.
FOF/Z 4-ever
I wish they would pass that. Kings Island would probably be well off with it, not that it isnt already, just would help a lot!
flightoffear1996
Ya I know that I would go alot more but when does building start on the new resort and hotel.
CoastersRZ
I don`t know if Great Wolf Lodges has set a date to begin construction. Last I heard is that PKI and Great Wolf were finalizing details. (IE working out if Great Wolfs would own or lease the land and other things along those lines.) flightoffear1996
Wait a second. Is this is supposed to be a hotel or a resort indoor waterpark thing.
CoastersRZ
What is supposed to be built on the PKI Campground is a Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park resort/hotel. There is currently an operating Great Wolfs up in Sandusky, right by the Steak `N` Shake and Meijer. Great Wolf recently went public and made quite a lot of money for new resorts with its IPO. CoastersRZ
I don`t quite understand your post. Are you refering to the Great Wolf Lodge? I doubt that it will be ready to open in 2005.

familyman
These type of waterparks take well over a year to build. The one in Columbus has started. I have not been by there in a few weeks but the ground was cleared and things were staked off.
jlopez
I hope they change there mind at the last minute and dont build it. I love the campground. Jennifer
RailRider
The Great Wolf Lodge is absolutely amazin in Sandusky. The indoor waterpark is so much fun and there are quite a few slides, interactive water activities, and adult only hot tubs. Besides the great indoor waterpark the lodge also offers some really good dinning and a large arcade. The Great Wolf will be an excelent addition to PKI, especially if they do bring Winterfest back, because guests will plan longer stays so they can experience the hotel and the holiday attractions at PKI(Fearfest/Winterfest). I cant wait for the Great Wolf Lodge and I will be one of the first guests, because they offer a truley unique experience. Also for FYI. Sandusky has the Great Wolf Lodge(which use to be the Great Bear Lodge-owned by same company.) Castaway Bay which is owned by Cedar Point, and under construction is the 3rd indoor water park resort known as Kalahari, which is suppose to be the biggest of the 3. I love the idea of 1 and 2 aint bad, but can that area really support 3?
Gordon Bombay
I hope they change there mind at the last minute and dont build it. I love the campground. BEAST RIDER
Has anyone heard if this hotel/waterpark will be in association with PKI or if it will be by itself . Knowing that great wolfe lodges are usually by themselves. But in this case did'nt know if there would be a tie in with Kings Island etc. etc. and Has anyone heard where the camp ground is moving too??? CoastersRZ
While nothing official has been announced, an article in the Cincinnati Post on the 7th of April did mention the campground will be closed this season to allow for construction of the new resort. As far as I know, PKI and Great Wolf are still negotiating terms of the deal. IE would PKI sell the land to Great Wolf, lease the land, who will pay for the new campground, where will it be located, will PKI share a percentage of the profits. It will most definantly happen, the two sides just have to iron out the details. I personally hope PKI leases the land to Great Wolf and does not sell it. That is just my two cents.
